This is the 10th episode of Kamiya Hiroshi (神谷浩史) and Ono Daisuke’s (小野大輔) radio show Dear Girl ~Stories. This is yet another hilarious episode, which I greatly enjoyed. Right at the beginning, OnoD cracked me up when he announced that Kamiya-san’s new nickname has been decided to be “Sexy”. If you’ll remember from the previous episode, they accepted suggestions from their listeners for Kamiya-san’s new nickname. One of them is “Sexy.” Here is a rough translation of their conversation:
Ono: Sexy. . .OnoD. . .
Kamiya: It’s like you’re announcing that you’re sexy. I’m not in it at all.
Ono: Is that so? Sexy OnoD.
Next up is Futsuu Story corner where they read letters from their listeners. Here is a rough translation of one of the letters.
Ono: Alright. Next is from radio name, Hiroko-san.
Ono: Gyoukouno-san (Mr. Good Luck, referring to Kamiya-san), OnoD-san, good evening.
Kamiya: She didn’t write that.
Ono: (laughs) You knew?
Hiroko (Listener): Hiroshi-san, OnoD-san, good evening.
Kamiya: Good evening.
Hiroko (Listener): From Sexy Broadcasting. What if Ono-san and Kamiya-san’s daughter marries, both of you will keep calling “Hiroko, Hiroko.” Well, my name is Hiroko so. . .
Kamiya: Oh, is that so?
Ono: Yes. Her radio name is Hiroko.
Hiroko: So if you say Hiroko (my name) on the show, you’re going to make my chest “kyun” (tighten) that it will feel like exploding.
Ono: Ara. . .
Kamiya: I see. But it’s still pointless for Ono-kun to ask for my daughter’s hand, like I’m going to give her to him. . .
Ono: I’m sorry.
Ono: That will be a shock!
Kamiya: You’ll have a happy face, huh?
Ono: Both of us. We’ll have happy faces whenever we’re talking about Hiroko. (says in an erotic voice) Hiroko! Hiroko! Like it’ll be a bit embarrassing, you know.
Kamiya: What the heck is that? Don’t do that!
Ono: (chuckles) Is that so? But I’m being serious.
Kamiya: Although I won’t call my daughter “Hiroko”. . .
Ono: But you’ll give her to me, right?
Kamiya: I definitely won’t allow you to do that.
Ono: Why not?
Kamiya: You’re asking why not? Do you really need a reason?
Ono: Yes, I do.
Kamiya: If you really like something or someone, you don’t need a reason.
Kamiya: So, why did you become a seiyuu? Did you do it because someone said, “being a seiyuu is good, so come and let’s do it together”? No.
Ono: But as for Hiroko. . .
Kamiya: You ask why won’t I give her to you?
Kamiya: There’s no reason!
Ono: (laughs & then playfully growls)
Kamiya: If you really like something, you don’t need a reason.
Ono: How about your second daughter, Hiroyoko?
Kamiya: Both of them are females.
Ono: Well, yes.
Kamiya: Both of them are females. . .And you want to marry both of them. . .That’s just. . .
Ono: Well, it’s inevitable that you would have to hand their hands in marriage. It’s going to come, you know? So isn’t it better to hand them to someone that you know?
Ono: Handing them to someone you know is good.
Kamiya: No, no. That’s not how you decide a good person. What are you saying?
Ono: Well, like a person who has a passionate heart?
Ono: Come now. He’s right in front of you.
Oh, gosh. That was hilarious. I couldn’t stop laughing. ｡ﾟ(TヮT)ﾟ｡ It seems that OnoD is too fixated into trying to marry one of Kamiya-san’s daughters. Next up is Sylph SoudanShitsu Corner where they introduced a manga titled Makanai Komusume (まかないこむすめ). A quick search on the web reveals that the mangaka is Kotani Ataru-sensei (小谷あたる), but this show credits a Sajou-sensei as its writer. They read a letter by Sajou-sensei in the corner titled “Sajou-sensei no Nayami” (Sajou-sensei’s Worries). Here is a rough translation:
Sajou-sensei no Nayami:
It’s been half a year since my manga’s debut in Sylph Comics, but I haven’t told my mother yet. All I share with my mother are just some details of my work. Since I was a child attempting to write my own manga, I never wanted to show my family my work. There are many embarrassing stuff in my work that I don’t want to share with them. But since she’s my mother, it’s like I’m turning my back on her by not sharing anything. When your family wants to know more about your work, isn’t it embarrassing?
Kamiya: I see.
Ono: Kamiya-san, how is it? Do you feel embarrassed when your family asks about your work?
Kamiya: Not really. It’s not embarrassing at all.
Ono: Is it so? Do they, like, approve your work?
Kamiya: Yes. I think. I don’t really know. I haven’t really heard from them, and I haven’t really asked.
Ono: Oooh? Well, as for me, I feel a little bit embarrassed.
Kamiya: It’s embarrassing? But they approve, don’t they? They should. Absolutely definitely, right?
For the next segment, they read a letter from another listener. This one is super funny. Here is a rough translation:
Shirosa-san (Listener): Kamiya-san, Ono-san, hello! There was this day when I went to a shop and bought a seiyuu magazine. During that time, there were 2 “old ladies” who saw me with the magazine. One of them asked me, “Do you know Ono-kun?” I thought that maybe she’s one of your fans. She continued to talk about the magazine, then she suddenly told me that the other woman with her is Ono-san‘s mother.
Ono & Kamiya: Eh?
Shirosa-san (Listener): This is the first time that this kind of coincidence happened to me, so I’m very surprised.
Shirosa-san (Listener): Ono-san‘s mother told me, “drop by my office, okay?”
Ono & Kamiya: (laughs)
Ono: Aaaah. Hahahaha. That’s ridiculous. Aaaaaah. It’s so embarrassing.
Kamiya: Mama-D. That was no good, Mama-D.
Ono: Oy, Mama-D?
Kamiya: That was no good, Mama-D. You’re embarrassing your son.
Ono: That’s so ridiculous.
Kamiya: But you know what? I think that there are just some things that you can’t tell your mother.
Ono: That’s so true.
Kamiya: Just like Sajou-sensei, right? But still, whatever you do, mothers will still support you. Just like Mama-D.
Ono: Don’t call her Mama-D.
Kamiya: Just like Mama-D who supports her son. So why don’t we give Sajou-sensei‘s mom a call?
Ono: Oh. Sajou Mama-D?
Kamiya: Yes. Sajou Mama-D.
Ono: Right now? Are you serious?
Kamiya: Yes. Give me the phone. Let’s call her now.
Ono: Are you serious?
Kamiya: Yes. I’m dialing right now. (gives her Sajou’s mom a call)
(Voice Message, and then beep to leave a message)
Ono: Uhm, uhm. Hello? This is Ono Daisuke. Well, see here, we were talking about Sylph Comics’ Sajou-sensei and. . .Well, it’s me. It’s me, me, me. Uhm. It’s me. Is Sajou-sensei. . .is Sajou-sensei a man or a woman? I really don’t know-
(beep beep beep)
Kamiya: You just pranked her! It has come to this. Sajou-sensei‘s mom, we’re so sorry. Just kidding. How about we try it one more time?
Ono: Eh? I’m done. It’s Sajou-sensei’s mom, didn’t you hear?
Kamiya: Let’s do it one more time.
Ono: No way. It’s like we’re prank calling her.
Kamiya: Yes, we are.
(calls again, voice message, and then beep to leave a message)
Ono: Uhm, I apologize for what I did before. It’s Mausu (OnoD’s talent agency, Mausu Promotion). Uh, no. It’s Ono. I want to talk to Sajou-sensei‘s mother. Sajou-sensei is great. . .at creating manga, that is. . .she does great manga.
(beep, beep, beep)
Kamiya: (laughs) How much points do you think you got for that, Ono-kun?
Ono: A perfect score, I think.
Kamiya: (laughs) You think? Just kidding! That was one of our staff’s phone.
Ono: So that’s it. I thought that it was fishy.
Oh, oh. My belly hurts. This is just too funny. I can’t stop laughing. (ᗒᗜᗕ)՛̵̖ This episode is extremely enjoyable. I hope you enjoyed it, as much as I did. Listen to the recorded copy of this episode above, which was kindly uploaded by dgs2703. どうもありがとう。
