夏って…センチメンタルな気分になるよね (Natsu-tte. . .Sentimental na kibun ni naru yo ne / Summer. . the mood has become sentimental, hasn’t it?)
Rating: 😀 😀 (2 out of 5 grins)
ATTENTION!!! Important Note: All the translations below are my own (by Arria Cross). All are labelled “rough translation”, as they did not undergo any professional proofreading and/or editing and may lack literal and/or grammatical accuracy. I did my best, however, to convey the atmosphere and context of the conversations in this radio show.

This is the 21st episode of Kamiya Hiroshi (神谷浩史) and Ono Daisuke’s (小野大輔) radio show Dear Girl ~Stories~. I find this episode to be a bit slow. The 2 hosts spent half of the show talking about the summer. OnoD says he wants to go flower-viewing. Kamiya-san says that he loves the summer very much. It’s September during the time of this episode, the last lap of summer. Kamiya-san mentions that his mind is still in August. They also talk about writing a DGS manga, and what it should be about. Because they cannot think of a good idea, Kamiya-san asks their listeners to send their suggestions.
Then they do the Sylph Soudanshitsu Corner. This is the only corner that they’re able to do in this episode because they spent too much time talking about the summer and about their DGS manga during the first half of the show. They introduce and read some lines of a manga written by a Hayashi-sensei. Then they do the Nayami Story (Story of Worries) sent by Hayashi-sensei. Here is a rough translation:
(spaces between lines mean dialogue that I’ve skipped translating)
Hayashi-sensei no Nayami:
It’s so hot everyday. I work inside my room, but I don’t use the air-conditioner because it’s bad for the earth (environment). So here’s my question. Is there anything that both of you do for the earth (environment)?
Kamiya: Well, if we don’t use aircon, we’ll suffer. It can’t be helped.
Ono: Yes. I love aircon.
Kamiya: You love it?
Ono: Yes, I love it.
Kamiya: Hmmmm. . . .
Ono: I love it because it makes me so cold.
Kamiya: Are you sensitive to the heat, Ono-kun?
Ono: Well, usually.
Kamiya: Hmmm. It’s because you sweat a lot, right?
Then they talk about the things they, as seiyuu, can do in order to help the earth (environment).
Kamiya: What else? Ono-kun, don’t ride taxi anymore.
Ono: That’s fine.
Kamiya: Starting today.
Ono: Eh? Eeehh?!!
Ono: Let’s not waste paper anymore.
Kamiya: Yes. Like in this show, let’s reduce our paper use like when using the fax.
Ono: Ah, yes.
Kamiya: How about the scripts we use during our work?
Ono: We should just share the scripts at the studio. We memorize our lines and then we return it.
Kamiya: Ono-kun, you can do that?
Ono: (pause) No, I can’t do that.
So you see, there’s not much going on in this particular episode. It’s still fun, as always, but I wish they could’ve done more corners than the Sylph Soudanshitsu. Nevertheless, it’s still enjoyable. Listen to a recorded copy of this episode above, which was kindly uploaded by dgs2703. どうもありがとう。
See you again soon, nee? ヾ(＾∇＾)
