The Blue Sky is Crying in Blood+

Rating: 😀 😀 😀 😀 🙂 (4 & 1/2 out of 5 grins)

Aozora no Namida (青空のナミダ / Tears of the Blue Sky) sung by Takahashi Hitomi (高橋 瞳) is the first opening theme song of one of my favourite anime series Blood+.  It is used in episodes 1-13.  This song is one of the most-played on my phone.  I just love it!

The guitars and the drums are AWE-SOOOOOME. . .so bad-ass, yet the lyrics are very soulful and quite sad, actually.  I don’t like the vocals very much (sorry, Takahashi-san), but I admire that she hits the right notes, especially the high ones.  I think that it fits the theme of Blood+ very well.

As for the music video, I like that it incorporates scenes from the anime, especially at the very beginning.  As the mv goes on, however, this incorporation becomes somewhat tacky.  Although I like its dystopian atmosphere, very Resident Evil-like.

Overall, Aozora no Namida is one of my favourite songs.  I’ll take a pass at watching the mv, but I love listening to the song.  If you haven’t heard of this song yet, watch it below now.  Enjoy!
