I’ve had so many anime crushes in the past, but my current anime crush is Trafalgar Law from my number 1 favourite series ONE PIECE. Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah~ ヽ(*≧ω≦)ﾉ
I already had a crush on him since his first appearance as one of Luffy’s new rivals at Sabaody Archipelago. I thought. . .well, I still think that he’s so cool, especially when he carries and caresses his nodachi. But some of the first things that I noticed about him are his trademark spotted fur hat and the letters of “DEATH” tattooed on each of his fingers. So bad-ass!
Trafalgar Law, or more known by his epithet “Shi no gekai” (死の外科医/Surgeon of Death), is the captain of the Heart Pirates. He wields the power of the Ope-Ope no Mi. I just go doki-doki whenever he uses his powers, especially when he says “Room!” ٩(♡ε♡ )۶
I also think that seiyuu Kamiya Hiroshi-san (神谷浩史) did an excellent job in bringing Law’s character to life. I love his cool and dignified voice. It just fits Law’s character perfectly. And for your information, Kamiya-san also performed a character song for Trafalgar Law titled “Dr. Heart-Stealer”. I think the title aptly describes Law because he’s a doctor and he stole a hundred hearts from pirates, presenting them to the Marines, so that he could gain the title as one of the “Ouka Shichibukai” (王下七武海). Hmmm. . . Perhaps I’ll create a post about that song one of these days. We’ll see. Well, about that song. . .let’s just say that it isn’t Kamiya-san’s best vocal performance. Don’t get me wrong, I like Kamiya-san’s voice, but I prefer that he just talk and not sing. Let’s end it at that.
Now getting back to Law. Even during his first appearance at Sabaody, I already had a hunch that he’ll become an important character in the series. I think I’m not the only one who thought this way. I know that many OP fans have felt the same way, too. It’s because he seemed so interested in Luffy, and kept mentioning the “D no ishi” (Ｄの意志) or “Will of D” when talking about him. And we’re right.
The latest chapters of the manga dropped a huge bombshell about Law’s real identity. His real name is revealed to be Trafalgar D. Water Law (トラファルガー・D・ワーテル・ロー). I’m not yet sure that the Anglicized version of “ワーテル” (Waateru)” is “Water” because normally, “water” is “ウォーター” (Wotaa). Law’s revealed name could be “Walter” or simply “Watel”, I’m not sure yet. I guess, we’ll just have to wait for Oda-sensei to reveal how to spell his full Anglicized name.
But anyway, I was like, “Naniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii????!!!” ∑(;°Д°) Law is a “D”, too? Wow! Awesome! So that’s why he was so interested in Luffy, and kept on talking about the “Will of D”. Then his tragic past is also revealed. Aaaaw. 😦
I could go on talking about the character of Law forever. . .no, scratch that. . .I could go on talking about ONE PIECE forever. It’s just so awesome! Trafalgar Law is my anime crush right now. I’m not sure until when he’ll remain as my anime crush, but for now, I’m looking forward to how Oda-sensei will further develop his character. So far, I find the increase of his character’s impact on the series amazing.
Love him! I’ll let him steal my heart anytime. Room!
