ATTENTION!!! Important Note: All the translations below are my own (by Arria Cross). All are labelled “rough translation”, as they did not undergo any professional proofreading and/or editing and may lack literal and/or grammatical accuracy.  I did my best, however, to convey the atmosphere and context of the conversations in this radio show.

This is the 30th episode of Kamiya Hiroshi (神谷浩史) and Ono Daisuke’s (小野大輔) radio show Dear Girl ~Stories~.  They begin the show by talking about “Nikimura-kun” (Nakamura Yuuichi) who guested last episode.  Then they announce that the Editor-in-Chief of Sylph Comics will be guesting later.  Both of them are nervous, asking themselves whether they have done a good or bad job in featuring Sylph Comics at DGS.  HiroC then observes that the program’s producer, Uchida-producer, is extra strict today because he has a weapon against the hosts, namely the Editor-in-Chief of Sylph.

Afterwards, they do the Futsuu Sto Corner (Futsuu Story/Ordinary Story), where they read letters sent to them by their listeners.

Ayato Haruka (Listener Letter): HiroC-san, OnoD-san, good evening.
OnoD: Good evening.
Ayato Haruka (Listener Letter): A while ago, OnoD said on the radio that he wanted to see the Ushiku Buddha, so I went there.
OnoD: Yes, but I haven’t gone there yet. . .
Ayato Haruka (Listener Letter): HiroC-san said that it’s really big, so I remembered this went I went there. Thanks to the two of you, I had a great trip. That being said, I got you some souvenirs from the temple.

(sound of wrappers being opened)
HiroC: What is this?
OnoD: Ah. Thank you very much!
HiroC: “Ushiku Buddha” is written on it.
Both: (laughs)
HiroC: What is this?
OnoD: It’s some kind of a postcard thingy.

HiroC: There are some more here. . .
OnoD: Thank you very much.
HiroC: There is some kind of strap here. . .This is a strap, right? Then, there is this T-shirt with an “I love Ushiku Buddha” written on it.
OnoD: Hahahaha!
HiroC: “I love”, huh? It’s like the “I love New York” T-shirts. But thank you very much!
OnoD: This is embarrassing!

Name of “Despair” (Listener Letter): I’m not going to comment, but I’m going to praise. [Arria: an allusion to HiroC’s role as Itoshiki Nozumu in Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei (さよなら絶望先生)]

HiroC: Don’t use the name “despair”.
Name of “Despair” (Listener Letter): Kamiya-san, Shintani-san. . . (Arria: Shintani Ryouko (新谷良子) plays the role of Hitou Nami from SZS)
HiroC: AHAHAHAHA! (clapping)
Name of “Despair” (Listener Letter): I’m falling in love. I love Kamiya-san, but I love Zoro-san even more. (Arria: Yay, for my favourite swordsman from ONE PIECE!)
Name of “Despair” (Listener Letter): Shintani-san, I like you. I LIKE YOU VERY MUCH! I LOVE YOU! PLEASE MARRY ME! This way, I think that my feelings will properly reach you.
HiroC: Why is a mail for my Sayonara Zetsubou radio show coming in here?
OnoD: That seems to be the case. Even though this is “DGS”.
HiroC: You shouldn’t do this. Please send your letters for my other show to the proper address. Never do this again.

Aiko-chan (Listener Letter): Kamiya-san, Ono-san, good evening.
OnoD: Good evening.
Aiko-chan (Listener Letter): I’m so excited for your upcoming event. My question is will you have a giant rubber that you’ll use & play during the event?
OnoD: Eh? Hai?
(Arria: This refers to their previous discussion about their event “Lovers Only” sounding very similar to “Rubbers Only” in Japanese.)

They also talk about cosplaying as the “Dirty Pair”, talking about what kind of costume they should wear. They talk about mini-skirts & panties.
OnoD: As I thought, we should just give up on being “Dirty”.

Finally, they do the Sylph Danwashitsu Corner. OnoD messed up his introduction of the corner, but then he tried again.  They didn’t introduce any manga today.  Instead, they welcome the Editor-in-Chief of Sylph Comics.

Editor-in-Chief: Good evening. This is the editor-in-chief of Hylph. . .
HiroC & OnoD: Ahaha!
Editor-in-Chief: Ah, the editor-in-chief of Sylph Comics, Sugihara Chiaki.
HiroC & OnoD: Welcome!
HiroC: We want to ask you which part of this program do you like?
Editor-in-Chief: I really liked the episode where you ate the durian.
HiroC: Ah, the durian?! Ah, thank you very much for making us eat such a delicious fruit!
OnoD: Yes, thank you very much!
Editor-in-Chief: All of our writers said that episode was super fun.
HiroC & OnoD: Ooooh. . . . .

The sarcasm of the 2 hosts, especially of HiroC is so thick. I can’t help but cringe, while laughing.  After the Duriangelion episode, HiroC would constantly reminisce his bad memories of it.

HiroC: So Editor-in-chief, it seems that you’re not here to scold us. So why did you visit us?
Editor-in-Chief: Why? Well, I came here to talk with you about publishing your Dear Girl ~Stories~ manga.
HiroC: Ah!
OnoD: Ohoho.
HiroC: Eh? About that. . .you’re really serious?
Editor-in-Chief: I’m serious.
HiroC: Ehehehe! Ahahaha!
OnoD: Ahaha!

They talk about the details of the manga. HiroC talks about having a sub-title for the manga, besides Dear Girl ~Stories~. Then they express their desire to make the premise a detective story. The Editor-in-Chief says that it’s cool and that they’re planning to make the characters all ikemen (handsome guys).

HiroC: The last thing is to make the ghostwriter write an amazing story for our manga under my name.
OnoD: Ahahaha!

Then the Editor-in-Chief suggests that they think about a one-word title for the manga because Dear Girl ~Stories~ is already so long. HiroC then orders OnoD to think of a one-line title on the spot (as usual).

HiroC: We’re seiyuu, so something to do with “voice”.
OnoD: Voice, huh? Hmmm. How about something like “hibiku” (“to resound” or “to echo”).

They will end up using OnoD’s suggestion, using “hibiki” the noun counterpart of “hibiku” as the sub-title of their manga.  Well done, OnoD!  Even though you were suddenly ordered by HiroC to think of a title on the spot.  Not bad.

Overall, this is a fun episode.  I hope that you enjoyed it as much as I did.  Listen to a recorded copy of this episode below, which was kindly uploaded by dgs2703.  どうもありがとう。
