ATTENTION!!! Important Note: All the translations below are my own (by Arria Cross). Today’s episode translation (ET) is one of those guaranteed ETs that I promised you before, since today is Valentine’s Day.  Valentine’s Day is a Dear Girl ~Stories~ day.  Today in Japan, the nerves of many girls are stretched to their utmost limits stressing out about making special homemade chocolates (or buying the commercial ones) to give to the guys special to their hearts.  How stressful!  I’m posting this on Valentine’s Day, but coincidentally, this episode is special by itself since it was Kamiya Hiroshi’s birthday when this episode was recorded.

This is the 42nd episode of Kamiya Hiroshi (神谷浩史) and Ono Daisuke’s (小野大輔) radio show Dear Girl ~Stories~.  OnoD announces that it’s HiroC’s birthday (January 28).  They play a Happy Birthday music for HiroC. It’s good that HiroC sounds so happy; he’s laughing a lot (at least at the beginning of the show). HiroC observes that there’s a camera going around. HiroC blows a birthday cake. They also take a picture, which they say they’re going to upload on their mobile site. Chanko Chanko-san is mentioned a lot. Then OnoD gives HiroC a present.

HiroC: (opens present) Wah! This is awesome! Wah! Amazing!
OnoD: Ahaha.
HiroC: It’s wrapped well. It’s a Unicorn Gundam!
OnoD: Yes. It’s a Master-Grade.
HiroC: Master-Grade! I’ve never bought this before. This is my first time.
OnoD: I bought it from Hobby Shop.
HiroC: Really? I’m super happy. Super duper happy. Thank you very much!

It’s so cute to hear HiroC sound like an ecstatic kid receiving the most wonderful present ever.  Although I can’t relate to Gundam-related things at all, I understand HiroC’s enthusiasm about his present.  Well, he plays Tieria Erde in Mobile Suit Gundam 00.

Afterwards, they read some “birthday” messages from listeners.

Chika-san (Listener): HiroC, happy birthday!
HiroC: Thank you.
Chika-san (Listener): OnoD’s New Maxi Single, Amaoto, was launched on my birthday, so I was very surprised. I’m thinking of buying it as a present for myself. So exciting!

Neon-san (Listener): HiroC, happy birthday!
HiroC: Thank you.
Neon-san (Listener): Ono-san, Amaoto was too awesome. I was very impressed with it when I heard it on radio the first time. I especially like the B-side, making me more excited about it.

HiroC only gets very brief greetings for his birthday, while OnoD gets long compliments on his Amaoto song. But I agree with them. Amaoto is a beautiful song. Although it seems that HiroC sounds a bit annoyed by this.  To make matters worse, OnoD announces that since it’s HiroC’s birthday, OnoD will be doing all of the announcing. He’s giving HiroC a “break” this episode. OnoD promotes his then new CD again. The staff keeps on laughing because it sounds like this episode is all about OnoD and his new CD, instead of it being about HiroC’s birthday. HiroC definitely sounds annoyed now, so he’s being sarcastic as OnoD reads his script. They play Amaoto again, with OnoD “dedicating” it to HiroC for his birthday.

Finally, they do the Sylph Danwashitsu Corner where they introduce and read some lines from the manga titled Juusha no Gakkou by Matsuyama Hanako-sensei.  Then they read a letter sent by Matsuyama-sensei about doing a mentality (psychology) test to determine the personality of a person.

OnoD announces that they have developed the DGD Original Psychology Test, where the results indicate OnoD as an “M” (masochist) and HiroC as an “S” (sadist).  Afterwards, they do another test to determine how these different personalities (S & M) reacts to eating a hated food.

If you remember from episode 11, both of them claim that their hated food is raisins.  HiroC is able to eat it, while OnoD complains that it stinks.  OnoD asks HiroC how he can eat it.  HiroC answers that he doesn’t really “hate” raisins, he just doesn’t “like” eating it; and if he’s forced to eat it by his mother, then he’ll eat.  OnoD, on the other hand, can’t stop complaining about how it stinks.  He tries to eat one, but is unable to swallow it, trying to put the raisin back to the container.

Before the episode ends, OnoD makes an exciting announcement.

OnoD: Dear Girl ~Stories~ in Kamiya House Coming Soon!
HiroC: Are you serious?
OnoD: Yes.
HiroC: I’m telling you that’s impossible.

I already listened to this episode in HiroC’s house.  I’ll translate it soon enough for you.  Be patient, ne?

This episode is enjoyable, but rather disappointing when the past 3 episodes were so awesome.  Nevertheless, I’m glad to hear HiroC exclaim like an excited child upon receiving his Gundam birthday present.  That’s my favourite part of this episode.

I wish you a HAPPY VALENTINE’S!  Fill your hearts with love during this month with your special loved ones.

I hope you enjoyed this episode.  Listen to a recorded copy of this episode below, which was kindly uploaded by dgs2703.  どうもありがとう。
