Today is a very special DGS day because it’s March 16, which means that our beloved DG5 Member Yasumoto Hiroki (安元 洋貴 ) will be turning 37 today.  Yay!  Yay!  Yay!  As a gift for you, my fellow DGS fans, this is a guaranteed episode translation (ET).  Enjoy!

お誕生日おめでとう!!!

This is the 47th episode of Kamiya Hiroshi (神谷浩史) and Ono Daisuke’s (小野大輔) radio show Dear Girl ~Stories~.

HiroC: It’s awesome, right?
OnoD: What’s awesome?
HiroC: It’s just awesome.
OnoD: What is?
HiroC: It’s already March before we’ve noticed it.
OnoD: Ah. So you’re talking about that.
HiroC: It’s really surprising.
OnoD: “Awesome”, you say. What do you say is “awesome”?
HiroC: This year is somehow just awesome, you know. It was just New Year and before we know it, it’s March already. And of course, what happened last week. . . .

If you’ll remember, OnoD and the DGS staff transformed HiroC’s house last episode into a Men’s Maid Cafe to properly celebrate HiroC’s birthday. OnoD and one of the show’s writers, Suwa-san, dressed up as maids and served HiroC.

OnoD: It was fun, right?
HiroC: You know, guys. . . .
OnoD: It was super fun.
HiroC: Ahahaha! You know, guys. You forgot and left a lot of stuff at my house. The tablecloth for one. . .
OnoD: Well, it was a maid cafe.
HiroC: Leaving and forgetting about such a “fancy” tablecloth at my house. . .I have no idea what to do with it.
OnoD: Well, we needed it for the maid cafe. . .
HiroC: Seriously, guys. . .And also there’s the piggy bank. That was yours, Ono-kun, right?
OnoD: Well, it was one of my lucky items this year. (Refer to episode 37, where it was said that one of OnoD’s lucky items is a 500 yen coin)
HiroC: Then don’t leave it at my place!
OnoD: It’s fine.  Keep it.  I’m tired of it now.

Dear Girl ~Stories~: Hibiki Manga
Dear Girl ~Stories~: Hibiki Manga

The conversation is even made funnier because you can clearly hear the staff laughing in the background during this conversation.  Next, they talk about some important events happening this March (2008). They finally announce that their DGS manga titled “Dear Girl ~Stories~: Hibiki” will be released on March 21 (2008) at the 6th Volume of Sylph Comics. HiroC thanks Iwasaki-sensei for drawing their manga for them.

HiroC also talks about a publicity photo featuring the entire DG5 members included in a PlayStation game. He then comments that all of them looks awfully exhausted in the photo.

Then they do the Futsuu Sto Corner (Futsuu Story/Ordinary Story) where they read and discuss letters sent to them by their listeners.  All of the letters comment on episode 45 where DGS first recorded an episode at HiroC’s house, which OnoD fondly calls “KamiSta” (short for “Kamiya Studio”).

Chikara no Magi-san requests for them to do more episodes at KamiSta.  HiroC then adamantly states that he’s never allowing DGS to come and record in his house again.

Mayako-san requests a footage of the show in DVD, if possible, specifically the shows broadcasted at HiroC’s house. OnoD titles it the “KamiSta DVD”. HiroC tells them that he won’t allow that to happen.

OnoD: But we uploaded a photo of your birthday party in your house at our website.
HiroC: Oh no.

Metamorphose-san shares her experience attending a live event by HiroC and saying that she enjoyed it very much. HiroC thanks her for coming.

HiroC: The event was really fun and there was a lot of people who came. The music was so loud that I couldn’t hear my own voice while singing.

He talks more about the event with OnoD. I kind of drifted off after a while, as it didn’t interest me that much. I enjoyed listening to their voices, though. They play with their voices, so it was a little funny.  Then OnoD promotes his CD “Amaoto” again.

HiroC cuts him off by resuming to read the program script. Then they laugh at the photo taken during HiroC’s Maid Cafe-themed birthday party last episode.

Finally, they do the Sylph Danwashitsu Corner where they read the description and some lines from the manga O-mamori no Kami-sama (おまもりのかみさま) by mangaka Kosugi Mayu (小杉繭).  Then they read a Futsuu Story Letter sent by Kosugi-sensei.

Kosugi Mayu-sensei:
I decided to enroll at a sports gym to get some exercise. But seeing all of those muscular sports men pumping away, I don’t know how to start. Kamiya-san, Ono-san, have you ever gone to the gym before? What sort of things can you do in the gym? Will someone with a weak body like me be alright?

HiroC comments that this question was very similar to the letter sent by Mikabe Sesuna-sensei, mangaka of Level 4 (Refer to episode 16).  OnoD played with a soccer ball during that time.

OnoD: So Kamiya-san, have you gone to a gym before?
HiroC: Yes, I have.
OnoD: Oh?
HiroC: Uhm, I went to soak in a bath.
OnoD: But we’re talking about the gym.
HiroC: I went to soak in a bath at the gym.
OnoD: Oh, so the bath at the gym.
HiroC: The bath there is big, you know.
OnoD: Ah, indeed, places like that have big baths.
HiroC: How about you, Ono-kun?

OnoD says that he uses some of the machines. HiroC then recounts an experience when he used one, seeing all of these old men and old ladies using the machines. He tried it and then got tired way before the elder people, so he went home to soak in a bath.

HiroC then orders OnoD to act out a scenario in a “well-known”-like sports gym using an Air Machine. OnoD says that he’s going to act like he’s using it for 50 kilometres.

OnoD: 20 km is my limit!

It’s HiroC’s turn to act by Air Swimming.  You can hear them gasping and grunting, which I can listen to over and over again just for the sake of it.

OnoD: Do the butterfly stroke!

HiroC: A radio show like this shouldn’t be forcing us to exercise!

This episode is fun, as usual.  However, I think that it fell a little flat, especially after the hilarious past 2 episodes at HiroC’s house.  Nevertheless, I still enjoyed this episode.

I hope that you enjoyed it, as much as I did.  Listen to a recorded copy of this episode below, which was kindly uploaded by dgs2703.  どうもありがとう。

  1. Those dorks of DGS are really too much xD
I want to ask about the show’s writer Tsubasa-san. I am sorry I didn’t listen to the radio itself, but I think Ono-san was dressed as a maid with Suwa Masaru-san (the Do-S DGS writer). There’s a picture of Ono-san, Kamiya-san, and Suwa-san in the episode 47 with Ono-san and Suwa-san dressed as maids (although Ono-san’s picture is blurred. It seemed that Mausu Promotion doesn’t allow him to crossdress).

Anyway thank you for the translation!! ❤ I can’t wait for the translation of Ono Daisuke seitansai episode 😀

    1. Indeed, these dorks are too much. . .too much FUN! 😀 I just checked my sources, and you’re right. Suwa Masaru was the one dressed as a maid with OnoD in ep 47. I just fixed my posts regarding this. I mistook “Suwa” for “Tsuba”. I was so busy laughing when I was translating HiroC’s birthday Maid Cafe party that I didn’t really proofread my translations. Thanks for correcting me.

If you’re interested with DGS people, you can find some of them on Twitter including Suwa, Chanko-Chanko, and the other 3 members of DG5. Unfortunately, I don’t think OnoD & HiroC tweet. But anyway, just letting you know, if you’re interested.

And you’re welcome. I enjoy translating DGS. I know that they’re not the best translations, but I can’t find anyone translating this show starting from the first episode so I’m doing it for fun. Glad that you’re enjoying it. Cheers!
