Recently, I almost succumbed to writing episodic anime reviews. I found myself being influenced by the awesomely detailed reviews that I often read by my favourite anime bloggers.
I always look forward to reading these episode by episode reviews, especially if they’re of anime series that I haven’t watched yet. And so I wanted to write them, too. And I almost did. Thank God I didn’t. Why, what’s wrong, you ask?
There’s nothing wrong. I just remembered my promise to myself when I was building Fujinsei a year ago. I swore to myself NOT to write episodic anime reviews in this blog. Don’t get me wrong. Like I just said, I enjoy reading them, but I discovered a long time ago that I HATE writing episodic anime reviews.
Hurrah and more power to those amazing bloggers who write regular episodic anime reviews, but they’re not for me. I know that after a while, they’ll begin to feel like work for me. That’s why I didn’t want to do them here. My philosophy for Fujinsei is to have fun blogging and that’s that. If blogging begins to feel like work, something that puts unnecessary pressure on me, then it means that I’m doing something wrong.
I wanted the freedom to write about almost anything regarding the anime that I watch. I think that writing episodic anime reviews is too limiting and stressful for someone like me.
I decided to stay true to my own blogging style. I hope that you will, too. Find a method that works for you. It’s good to experiment now and then, but I think that sticking to something that you’re good at is the best way to go.
How about you? What’s your blogging style?
That’s all for today, folks! Have a great week ahead. Cheers!
