What Is Your Most Favourite Manga of All Time?

Difficult question.  But since it’s my favourite anime of all time, I’m just going to say ONE PIECE.

    1. Oh, boy. You reminded me of my ultra long to-read list. And this manga has been on it since…a LOOOOOOOONG time. The anime adaptation is also on my even longer to-watch list. Anyway, thanks for the reminder. Cheers!

      1. I think you should read that. It’s really funny. my first impression it would be a little serious cz it’s a remake of momotarou, but it being so funny in the end. have you ever think that the reincarnation of the demon being an otaku? 😀
        Only on this manga..

      1. Everything really – strong characters, great writing, clever twists, unusual concept, superb art and engaging story telling. Frankly it is a breath of fresh air amongst the mire of usual formulaic stuff out there! 🙂

      2. No but I’ve seen all three seasons of the anime and enjoyed it very much. Shame the UK DVD releases have been botched by Kaze with the first season, as this could have been a huge hit.

      1. At first, mainly for the action and horror. Later on I got attached to the characters. The hero damaged almost beyond repair still harboring some hope. The villain with an allure which has him seeming almost a hero himself even as he walks on the graves of those he betrayed. Good times.

      1. Tokyo Ghoul is really good – has an intense storyline and really great characters. Hmm I’d probably lean more towards One Piece, the characters are really sweet and fun, I’ve been following the series for a couple of years so reading it also has a real sentimental value 😛

      2. Thanks! I’ll add it to my to-read list and see if I like it.
I know, right? As a huge OP fan, I love the series. It’s not perfect, but it’s just awesome. Anyway, thanks for sharing your opinions with me. Cheers!

    1. High five! I know, right? Black Butler manga is just so awesome, but I think I like it better than the anime. But of course, once I watched the anime, I can’t read the manga without hearing the seiyuu of the anime saying the lines. 😉
Fruits Basket also makes me so nostalgic. And I’m a huge ONE PIECE fan, so that’s a give. 😀

So what do you say is your #1 favourite among these?

    1. Ooooh. CLAMP. Cool! Although I don’t consider myself as a fan per se, I do like their works. Their works make me so nostalgic since I’ve watch the anime adaptations of their manga when I was a kid. Do you reread these manga when you have the time?

  1. Oh this is hard! I’ve read a lot of manga over the years, but I always come back to Ouran High School Host Club, Kare Kano, and Magic Knight Rayearth. I have read these 3 so many times, it would be hard to pick one favorite!

That’s fine. I know that it can be quite difficult to pick a #1 favourite among the great manga out there. I watched the anime “Magic Knight Rayearth” as a little girl but haven’t really read the manga. Have you watched the anime?

  2. I like manga and everything but I won’t spend money on a collection.

A manga-habit? It is bad enough I have to stand in line at the gas station buying my daily cigarettes, 12-pack of morning beer, Hustler magazine, and scratch-off lottery tickets.

Good thing they don’t sell manga, I have too many addictions as it is …

    1. That’s fine, Jamie. You mentioned that you haven’t been a fan of anime that long, right? It’s understandable that you haven’t read enough manga to have one you can all favourite. Perhaps you can try to read the manga of the anime you like?

      1. I think that would be a amazing ability. If this was Naruto, you might be able to do it. Just make a clone, go to sleep, and after the clone gets done reading and vanishes, the memories goes to you. In essence, you do read while sleeping xD

Oh my gosh. “Please Save My Earth” is awesoooooooome~ Have you read it’s sequel? The art also evolved and looks cleaner and more modern.

I think that I’ve read “MARS” when I was younger, but it was too mature for me at that time. I think I should read it again. Thanks!

    1. Oh my gosh. “Fruits Basket” makes me so nostalgic! I also only watched the anime for “Pandora Hearts” and I liked it, but I haven’t really read the manga. Oh, first time I heard about “The Hands of the Demon Adored”. Is it good? What is it about?
