Day 12:  A Song That Reminds You  Of Your Best Friend

Reason by music duo Yuzu (ゆず) is the 3rd ending theme song of the 2011 anime adaptation of the HUNTERxHUNTER series by Togashi Yoshihiro (冨樫 義博).  It’s also used as the ending theme song of the movie Phantom Rouge.

Reason is one of my favourite songs.  As I don’t have a single “best” friend, it reminds me of all of my close friends.  It’s a beautiful song that tells about gaining the courage to face any challenges head-on when you’re with someone important to you; in this case, your best friend.

I think that it’s the perfect song to demonstrate the friendship between Gon and Killua in the series.  I already talked about my admiration of their friendship in a previous post titled “Killua Zoldyck:  From Assassin to Best Friend”.  Both of them face a lot of challenges, most of them deadly, but they face them head-on together.  I think that their dedication for each other is wonderful.

Reason is a beautiful song, don’t you think?  It’s calming, but at the same time, makes your heart ache a little.  I think it’s a great song to dedicate to your best friend.  Now you know that Reason by Yuzu is the song that reminds me of my close friends.  What’s yours?
