Showers Can Be Fun With Luffy’s “Baka Song” & Brook’s “Binks no Sake”

Day 13:  A Song You Sing in the Shower

l don’t believe in multi-tasking.  I think that it’s an over-rated word people use to justify procrastination.  I like to focus on one thing at a time and complete it before moving on to the next task.  That’s why I don’t often sing in the shower.  I take my showers seriously, so I don’t like distracting myself by singing.  However, as I love ONE PIECE so much, I find myself singing some of its songs in unlikely situations (for me) such as in the shower.

One of the OP songs that I’ve caught myself singing in the shower is Luffy’s famous Baka Song sung by his seiyuu, Tanaka Mayumi (田中 真弓).  It’s a catchy song that is easy to hum along.  It never fails to make me laugh.  Now that I think about it, I should’ve chosen this as the song that makes me laugh.  In the video below, Tanaka Mayumi sings the Baka Song and shares about how Oda Eiichiro (尾田 栄一郎), the mangaka of ONE PIECE, was surprised that Luffy sang it enka-style in the anime.  So funny!

Another song that I’ve caught myself singing in the shower is Brook’s Binks no Sake.  In the world of OP, this is a popular pirates’ song.  Like the Baka Song, it’s a catchy song that is easy to hum along.  But unlike it, Binks no Sake, is filled with meaning that may leave you in tears.

I love these two songs.  They’re very easy to sing, even for someone like me who have difficulty holding a tune.  Now you know that Luffy’s Baka Song and Brook’s Binks no Sake from my favourite series ONE PIECE are songs I sing in the shower.  What’s yours?
