Merry Christmas (Eve!)

kamiyu festive (2)

Hey again all!

I know I disappeared after writing my first blog post, I’m terribly sorry about that; school and all!

The festive season is here now, so I thought I’d write about my favourite things about Christmas! Including anime related events and of course Hiroshi Kamiya…

Let’s dive in, shall we?

Christmas to me has always been my favourite holiday of the year. I’m sure it’s probably almost everybody’s favourite, however we all have different reasons for this which I think is fascinating.

Spending time with my family is important to me which we get a lot of during Christmas. Just being able to relax with no worries or anxiety for a day or two is the best feeling. Of course, presents are another reason people love Christmas and I can’t claim I’m not one of those people.

If you haven’t guessed yet, I’m a huge Kamiya fan and my parents told me to write a ‘Kamiya Christmas list’ because they’ve noticed my…obsession. Although when one of my parcels got hit with a hefty customs charge my mother responded with “it would be cheaper to buy tickets to Japan and go haul shopping there for that man”; if only I could really afford to go.

I feel this Kamiya image is relevant to how I felt over that conversation.

Christmas also indicates the end of the year and the closure to the anime of 2015. There has been a lot of  amazing anime this year with some of my favourites being Osomatsu-san, Noragami Aragoto, Rokka no Yuusha, Aoharu x Kikanjuu, DRRRx2 Ten, Gangsta, Gakkou Gurashi and Sore ga Seiyuu! Whilst all listed aren’t revolutionary, most of them were really creative which is something I find a lot of anime can lack sometimes. Let me know some of your favourite anime from 2015 below!

I also have a small announcement to make; I’ll be starting to add some song translations to the site! Probably irregularly and at random…

  kamiya OK

I’m currently teaching myself Japanese and I absolutely love Kamiya’s songs, so I thought why not combine the two and share the results with others! I plan to translate some of my favourite Kamiya songs and share them with all of you on here. Just a warning though, I am still a beginner and these will be my very first translations so there’s bound to be mistakes! よろしくお願いしますね!(oミ゚ロ゚ミ)o

This post may be short and sweet, but I’d like to wish everyone who reads our posts a Merry Christmas! What are your favourite parts about Christmas? Any special traditions you do? Anything you’re looking forward to in 2016? Let me know below!

  1. Nichols displays that rare faith in his audience, to go with the flow, make our own deductions or assumptions, to read into this cross-country chase what we will –Christian allegory, alien fantasy, or any number of options in between.

    1. Same here, we have traditions but today when I was on the couch relaxing with my family, for a moment I really appreciated the atmosphere and just took time to slow down and be at peace (´ω`)
