DRRR’s “Complication” Reminds Me of My Ex

< Day 27 | Day 29 >
Day 28:  A Song That Reminds You of Your Boyfriend/Girlfriend (if you don’t have one, make one up)

Ahahaha!  This challenge seriously cracks me up.  “If you don’t have a bf/gf, make one up.”  Anyway, I’m happily single at the moment but for the sake of today’s song challenge, I’ll just have to think of a song that reminds me of one of my ex-boyfriends.

I would say that Complication by ROOKiEZ is PUNK’D reminds me of him.  Well, it doesn’t exactly remind me of him but of the song that he insisted was our theme song.  It was a Tagalog song titled Ulan (Rain) by Filipino band Cueshé.  He dejectedly sang that song when I rejected him to have a relationship with his friend instead.  When his friend and I broke up and we finally got together, he continued to senerade me with that depressing song.  I thought it was cute during that time but looking back now, I realize how inappropriate it was to have a song about heartbreak as a theme song for dating lovers.  No wonder we broke up.

Anyway, I just thought that Complication by ROOKiEZ is PUNK’D is similar to Ulan.  Both of them are songs about loneliness and pain.  Complication is the 2nd opening theme song of the anime adaptation of the series DuRaRaRa!! from episodes 13-25.

I already featured this doki-doki-inducing song before, but I want to feature it again because it’s a favourite and I frequently listen to it whenever I’m in an emo-mode.  I love the vocalist’s growl at the chorus.  So sexy~~~

Now you know that Complication by ROOKiEZ is PUNK’D is a song that reminds me of my ex-boyfriend.  What’s yours?

  1. The song that reminds of my ex-girlfriend is Glassy Sky in Tokyo Ghoul. It’s such a great song and we used to listen to it together. And now every time I listen to it, it just reminds me of her.

    1. Well, I don’t have a song with my other exes, but only this one. Actually, i didn’t even choose it with him. He just sort of forced it. But it still gives me a nostalgic feeling when I hear about it, so I guess it’s good. Anyway, I don’t believe in Ms. Right or Mr. Right at this moment, unless I’m proven otherwise. I think it’s more important to be independent and love yourself rather than wait for someone to love you.

      1. Well, both might show my age, but if ya want, lookup November Rain by Guns and Roses and LL Cool J’s “I Need Love” on You Tube. I dunno why, but November Rain makes me tear up, though it’s sung by a heavy metal band. Both have a message of love.
