ONE PIECE Film Gold
I’m beyond excited for this upcoming ONE PIECE film. I can’t wait for the summer so that I can fangirl like crazy. I wonder what it’s going to be about. I have high expectations since it seems that Oda-sensei is taking an active role as an executive producer. Wohoo!!! Can’t freaking wait!
Durarara!! x2 Ketsu
It’s currently airing. I don’t normally watch airing anime, so I’m waiting for all episodes to be released before I watch. Can’t wait to watch it!!!
Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan)
Does anyone know the exact date for season 2? I heard rumours that it would be released next month but no trailers have been released yet, so I highly doubt it. Ooooooooooh. I do hope that it’ll be released this year. Anybody with me on this?
How about you? What anime are you most looking forward to this 2016?

I’m looking forward to watching Erased, One Piece Film Gold, and Bungou stray Dogs.
I will also keep watching Haikyuu and GINTAMA, which I recommend to you if you haven’t watched it yet.

ONE PIECE Film Gold—High five! I’m so excited for it. And of course, Haikyuu!! I must admit that I haven’t watched “Erased” yet. Seeing as I’m reading quite a lot of positive reviews about it, perhaps I should roll my sleeves and watch it soon. We’ll see.

Yay! High-five! Let’s all look forward to them together. Can’t wait!
I haven’t watched any Magi yet. The fans I’m encountering online are increasing. Maybe this year will be the year that I’ll get to watch it. We’ll see.

I live Magi. The anime is alright, but the manga is definitely better. I think the fanbase is also increasing because of Sinbad no bouken. I’ll be happy to see more fans!

Perhaps I’ll be one of those additional fans in the future. We’ll see. I’m certain that I’ll watch it eventually just not right now, as I’m focusing on Gundam series. But thanks!

Way too many, Neko-chan! It seems that you’re looking forward to every anime show that are going to be released this year. XD
But yes, I agree with DRRRx2 Ketsu. Can’t wait to watch it. Hurry up with the episodes! I’ve only heard about Prince of Stride, like 2 days ago, and I feel kind of bad not to know about this anime until right now.

I find this year to have more potential than the last. XD 2015 was kind of bland for me, I was depressed. XD (Besides Durarara, Noragami and Rokka no Yuusha, I can’t say I liked very much else; Diabolik Lovers and Dance with Devils both disappointed me, as for Owari no Seraph and One Punch Man I couldn’t be bothered starting them yet LOL I will though, so maybe I’ll have more to remember from 2015 eventually XD)

Well, I’m not really that knowledgeable about which season or year is good or bad when it comes to anime, since I don’t like to watch airing anime. But it seems that I read a lot of rants about this issue as well, that 2015 was not that great in terms of the anime lineup, although there were quite a lot of surprising winners, if I’m hearing things correctly.
Dance with the Devils is a reverse harem series, right? I think some people recommended this to me as they know that I’m a reverse harem fan. I also want to watch “One Punch Man” too, but I’m still waiting for the buzz to die down a bit so that I won’t have to be influenced too much about other’s opinions about this series.
But anyway, like you I’m looking forward to 2016. Here’s to more anime watching & babbling about them in our blogs. Cheers!

On the contrary, I tend to start up as many airing anime as I can possibly handle; finishing them or taking my time is the actual problem in my case, and it felt even harder last year because I technically could just manage to finish 3 or 4 series with no effort (from which I liked only 2 ) and while the others had potential, they just either flopped for me or became just average ( Akagami no Shirayuki-hime, I’m looking at you). Dance with Devils is indeed a reverse harem made by the creators of Diabolik Lovers, surprisingly anime original though. You can expect to see lots of Diabolik Lovers similarities in it, but…in a musical-style. I’m not even joking. They SING!
As for One Punch Man, that was one anime that I didn’t pick exactly because everybody was buzzing about it too! But not because I feared to get influenced, I just usually tend to “chainsaw” anime that everybody likes or just don’t find them anything beyond average. I just never seem to actually agree with the mass XD But of course, I’ll give it the possibility of surprising me; mostly because it’s supposed to be a parody of all shonen clichés out there and I like those.
Cheers to that!!

Oh wow. I’ll probably faint if I follow your example. I’m mostly a marathoner so I like to finish an anime when I start it, although it depends on whether I like it or not. I can’t handle trying to watch all airing anime that I can handle like you. Sounds exhausting to me. So what was your favourite series last year?
Ahahaha! That sounds so interesting. Seriously? They sing? Oh gosh. I’m currently on a Gundam phase right now, but maybe when I get into a shoujo or even a reverse harem phase/mood, I’ll be able to see for myself that singing anime that you’re talking about. That’s so interesting. But did you like it?
Oh well. The buzz around One Punch Man is slowly quieting a bit, maybe I’ll watch it sooner than I first thought. We’ll see. We can’t really talk about our impressions on it because both of us haven’t watched it. Oh well. Not that it’s our concern at this moment. Anyway, what are you watching right now?
LikeLiked by 1 person
It is exhausting. I don’t manage to finish them all most of the time, I just try some out of curiosity, others out of “why not?”, others because i’m genuinely interested in. I end up deleting those that I started, but eventually deciding to not continue what I don’t think I will be able to even remotely enjoy. But I still end up with lots of titles.XD
Of last year my favorite was definitely Rokka no Yuusha and Hibike! Euphonium (I won’t mention second seasons). Besides these two, I didn’t watch anything that actually didn’t make me rage to a certain point. Snow White with Red Hair comes to mind as an exception though. It was one of the most average animes that I have ever watched, which is intended in both a good way and in a bad way; nothing exactly went wrong, but nothing exactly went for the better either, in my opinion. I was neither excited, amused nor exactly bored or unsatisfied. It’s so WEIRD.
Dance with Devils…This is a hard one. I can’t really say “Yes, I like it.” but neither “No, it sucks.”. It has some good points which I think it’s worth to watch, especially for the musical element which is very fresh (in a different way from UtaPri or StarMyu). They’re almost theatrical. On the other hand though, it has a lot of issues that Diabolik Lover suffered from. I would say to not expect a lot. It’s filled with those otome game conveniences, but the main couples are quite cute.
Quite a lot. Prince of Stride, Norn9, Divine Gate, Nijiiro Days, Schwarzesmarken… Oh Shugo Chara too ! some stuff from last year…XD What about you?

I haven’t watched any of the anime that you listed here. I feel kinda ashamed. But I’m really curious about “Dance With the Devils” and “Prince of Stride”. Yummy bishies!
Ahahaha. Oh well. Life is short, so don’t waste it on series that you don’t enjoy. But like I said, it’s kind of impressive that you have the energy to start a lot of airing anime at the same time. As for me, I always feel reluctant on starting a new series because it’s always feels like huge investment to me, timewise and emotion-wise.
I’m also curious about Euphonium and Yuusha no Rokka. I’ve read quite a lot of posts about them, but I’ve been quite bad and haven’t really tried watching them.

As you said, life is indeed short, however I have this type of reviewer mentality now and I simply can’t watch anything just out of enjoyment anymore. If I enjoy it then I am interested in knowing exactly what I enjoy trying to be as emotionally detached from it as possible (only when I review it though of coruse haha), if I don’t enjoy it I am curious to know what makes me not enjoy it from a writing as well as personal point of view. When they become too much of a pain it’s when I drop them. But happens rarely. XD It’s nice that you always have to get ready when you start a new series, it’s a very positive approach! I, on the other hand, keep my expectations around 50/50 if not low when I start something new. XD Once again, I can’t help it since there are little the number of things that actually impress me anymore. Quite sad said like that, but I swear that there is joy in what I do XD I have lots of fun “sinning” stuff that I don’t like, but out of “love” for the medium. Because I know they can do better.
Omg go watch Rokka no Yuusha now!!

So pessimistic and very detached. (wipes tears) Oh well. I really don’t consider myself an anime reviewer. I just write whatever the heck I want regarding an anime and make them as outrageous as I can, although I try to be serious now and then. 😉
But of course, I do enjoy reading objective anime reviews by bloggers like you because they give me some hints of what to expect regarding anime series that I’m planning to watch. So keep it up!

Hahaha Sounds sad. Yes, but I am realistical about not managing to get emotionally involved in the many shows that I actually end up watching and it’s interesting to find out whether it did just not appeal to me personally or something went wrong along the way. It takes very little for me to get attached to a character, but very little to not get attached or stop getting attached too. XD But I’m glad that I can be of help to somebody by doing this too. When I complain about shows that other people love like for example Charlotte (which had lots of potential but I ended up disliking it hard in the end) or Monster (which I think is kind of overrated on a lot of aspects because it’s a classic)…yeah, I had my share of problems with certain people, but I’m never trying to be mean. It’s just tough ! XD Thank you though !

Ahahaha! I totally understand. I know people in my life who are like you. My dad actually is like you. He’s realistic and practical and don’t really get that emotionally involved with shows, especially if they’re too dramatic or too cheesy or things like that. You’re just being yourself, so don’t worry too much about it. After all, each of us have different personalities right? So what kind of shows do you find yourself becoming emotionally attached?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Hahah yep then I’m like you’re dad XD hmm, I like tearjerkers. I always got emotional at KEY stories like Air Tv, Kanon, Clannad and Little Busters. When I watched Clannad After Story, I cried for the whole 3 last episodes. lol Ultimately, it needs to at least partly make me relate and make me think that the characters have a reason for what they’re doing or what they’re feeling. As genuine as their feelings look, as much I will get attached eventually. What about you? You said that every show you start is an emotional journey for you. Does it always happen?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Ooooooh. Those are real tearjerkers. I think you’re heartless if you don’t even have misty eyes watching these shows.
Not really. It depends. Sometimes my mood just prevents me from getting into a show, you know? However, more often than not, I find myself enjoying a show I didn’t enjoy when I first watch it. Depends on my mood. I’m a very moody person.
-____-
How about reverse harem anime? Do you get emotionally involved with them or do you just like ogling the hot guys?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Haha well, I can definitely relate with being moody XD
Really depends. I got emotionally involved in Amnesia and Hanasakeru Seishonen a lot, but if I have to think at Dance with Devils or Norn9 (anime) ….no. Sure, I still enjoy ogling at the hot guys no matter what the story is, but it really depends of the execution whether I will feel something for it or not or if it contains something that I particularly relate to.Second season of Free comes to mind as a good example because of the “quarter life existential crisis” theme XD I don’t know if you’ve watched it, but I was and maybe still partly am like Haru on certain aspects regarding my future which is why he touched the strings of my heart. XD

Of course I watched “Free!” No way I’ll pass up watching those ripped abs, you know? 😉
I see. I get what you mean. Although I’m kind of impressed that you got emotionally involved with “Amnesia”. It was very difficult for me to stay interested in, to be honest. As for Hanasakeru, love that show!
I think that there are a lot of factors for us to get emotionally attached to a series. Shows that I didn’t like a few years ago suddenly starts interesting me. Or vice versa. And of course, our mood plays a huge role, I guess. So what do you say is your favourite genre when it comes to anime? The genre that usually makes you emotionally involved? Romance?
LikeLiked by 1 person
haha might be because I already knew the story of Amnesia, so I wasn’t diving in completely blind XD I do recognize that Amnesia anime was poorly executed though. So I can’t deny I was biased. Hakuouki was another one when I only got emotionally involved in after I played the game.
As you said, mood plays a big role. So, I can’t really pinpoint you a specific genre that makes me particularly emotionally involved. I cried in Clannad as much as I did not care for Charlotte, I got creeped out in Higurashi as much as I was kinda “meh” at Shiki, I loved Say I love you as much as I yawned at Snow White with Red Hair. But if I have to think of a pattern that I usually tend to like more than the rest, it would be mystery/thriller (though it can fail as easy as succeed) or simply mystical. I also tend to surprisingly have a soft spot for stories about humans and spirits (like Mushishi, Natsume’s book of friends and Hotarubi no mori e), since they’re usually so tragically deep. I just can’t help but rate those themes high most of the time.
What about you? A particular genre that draws you in instantly?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Oooooooh. I see. Makes sense. I don’t play games, so I only have the anime as my standard.
I see. By the way, I just finished watching “Mushishi” this weekend. I loved it! I wish there was more.
Hmmmm. So you like mystical series and the mystery/thrillers. I think same here, although I love watching fantasy/sci-fi. However, I can only watch them when I have a certain amount of energy. When I’m exhausted, I tend to watch sports anime. Sports anime are my go-to comfort series, I guess. Ahaha. Sounds weird when I say it like that.
So you like tragedy?
LikeLiked by 1 person
oooh I’m glad! Mushishi is just great !! Fantasy/sci-fi is a good genre as well when it tries to not be average. (a lot can categorize under that genre nowadays). Which animes do you like of this genre/s?
hahahaha no, I understand. You can say that I do the same when I want to shut my brain XD either sports, romance or any generic anime that I can take it easy on XD
Yes, I tend to prefer tragedy, but I also like it when it has a good message behind it. It can be sad and reality is sometimes sad, but it can turn into a positive effect in the future. 🙂

ONE PIECE is my favourite anime, so include that series. The other popular ones. . .but I just recently got into Gundam, so include that, too.
I know, right? They’re very comforting. I agree with the meaningful tragedy. You cry but then you’re amazed with the beauty afterwards. But I still have to prepare myself before watching a show I heard is a tragedy.
