Which Anime Needs a Reboot?

Slam Dunk, definitely.  I want a Slam Dunk with a nicer art style and smoother animation plus I want an anime that adapts the entire manga from beginning till the end.

Hmmmm.  Another one would probably be City Hunter, Cat’s Eye, and oh yeah, I want a reboot for Trigun.  Now that would be awesome.

How about you?  Do you have any anime series that you want to have a reboot?

    1. I don’t think the Kuroko would immediately get a reboot since it’s only a few years since it ended. Perhaps in a few years when we’re older, they’re gonna reboot it. Same with Psycho pass. Anyway, thanks a lot for dropping by and sharing your thoughts with me. I appreciate it. Cheers!

  1. A reboot of Rurouni Kenshin would be nice. I love the existing anime but it didn’t follow the manga to the end. If they rebooted the entire thing, following the manga from start to end, it’ll be awesome.

    1. Yes. I should’ve put that in this post, as well. That would be awesome. Well, we already have the live-action films, so a reboot anime is not an impossibility. Crossing my fingers. Thanks for dropping by. Cheers!

  2. Ranma ½, Saint Seiya and Campione.

Ranma ½ because while the story is still good, the animation is kinda old fashioned. The artists can do better now. They ought to do a reboot while retaining the original plot.

Saint Seiya was never completed btw. The left the final arc un-animated. They should do a re-boot anime based on the original manga. I hate the S.S Omega.

Campione because I like the light novel. It is a shame that so many interesting story arcs in the light novel never made it to the anime. They ought to do a re-boot and follow the light novel more faithfully his time round.

Oh yeah, and Hell Teacher as well. They can do better animation now.

    1. Oh my gosh. You just reminded me of Hell Teacher Nube. That was one of the staples of my childhood alongsode DB, HxH, Yu Yu Hakusho & those series. I agree. I would love to watch a reboot of it, but I’m not feeling very optimistic that it would happen. . .but we’ll never know.

I also totally agree with Ranma 1/2. Ah, the nostalgia. I think that this seroes has the highest change of getting a reboot compared to the others you mentioned. As for Saint Seiya, I know I watched it when I was a kid but I don’t remember much of because it didn’t appeal much to me. Nice choices. Thanks for dropping by and sharing these with me. Keep on watching anime. Cheers!

    1. I used to watch it as a kid. I must confess that I’m not a big fan of it, but if there ever is a reboot for it, I’d be very curious in watching it. Thanks for dropping by!

  3. The Rose of Versailles because the stiff older art is what turns people off from a masterpiece of storytelling and history. I honestly don’t mind the visuals, but it’d always be welcome if ufotable did a four-film reboot for the classic shoujo. They’d do a fantastic job at contrasting the glittery bits and the darker, more sophisticated tone.

  4. Ooh, SLAM DUNK INDEED. And Prince of Tennis, old as sin too. Also Whistle! deserves a complete adaptation. It’d be great to see older anime adapted, like Saint Seiya. I just feel like 60-80’s anime have a lot of good qualities and just need a washing to become pretty and modern really!
I’d love some mahou shoujos like CCSakura to get one too, or at least just a washing to look less grainy~
TBH, I just them all to get washed and nice again o.(+・`ω・+).o

    1. Yes yes yes! I was obsessed with PoT when it just came out. I love Atobe! Ehehehe~ I didn’t like Whistle! all that much but if they make a reboot, of course I’ll watch it. I love sports anime. Speaking of Cardcaptor Sakura, I’m also thinking of Magic Knight Rayearth. Do you know it? I used to love it as a kid.

      1. Whistle manga made me cry loads, so I’m sad the anime is as old as it is, ditto for Tenipuri. I really want them to make them new and pretty hnnng
        Atobe and Ryoma hnng ᴗ<๑)
Never ended up watching or reading Magic Knight Rayearth, but I do want to!

      2. Cool. Let’s be optimistic. We’ll never know. Whistle might get a reboot and it might be awesome. That would be great. Oh yeah. That’s what I’m hoping for Atobe, Ryoma & Tezuka of course. But if there ever was a reboot, I kinda hoped that the original seiyuu would still voice them. Oh well. We’ll see.
I used to watch Magic Knight Rayearth. I loved it as a kid.

      3. Now that would be a dream!
OOoh, original seiyuu returning would be great!
Tezuka can get it any day of week (¬‿¬)
Is MKR good then? I need to check it out then~

      4. Magic Knight was awesome when I was a kid. It’s magical girl-mecha-shoujo romance. I don’t think I’ll enjoy it as much now as an adult but I still have lots of fond memories of it.

      5. I know, right? I frankly don’t remember much of its plot anymore because it’s been so long. I was literally a little girl the last time I watched it. Anyway, thanks for the discussion. I appreciate it. 😉

    1. Ahahaha! I don’t think I’m not ready for a DB Super reboot yet. It’s too recent for me. But it’ll definitely be a good idea in about 10 years, I think, so that newer generation can enjoy it with much BETTER animation and story (hopefully).

  5. I’ll be frank and say: Sword Art Online. SAO just has a really cool concept, though common nowadays, still had the exact flavor I wanted. It has this amazing art style and animation, to some extent everything had AMAZING potential even the characters! I just wish they’d redo it and do it..right.

    1. I actually disagree. I liked both the Tokyo Ghoul manga and anime. The path that the anime took is very interesting, although I must agree that it felt rushed. However, I liked that we can follow 2 differing plots. But on another hand, of course I want a Tokyo Ghoul anime loyal to the manga. But I never thought for a second that the anime is atrocious.

      1. Oh, so that’s what you meant. But don’t most anime series like that? I know ONE PIECE does it and it’s my favourite. But it’s not the best example, I guess because even as a big fan, it does have horrible animation at times. I think Initial D did it too.

      1. True, but that doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t want some series to have reboots just like how you think Bebop doesn’t need one. But I personally want to see a reboot, even if it was already great the first time around.
