This blog carnival is now CLOSED.

Welcome to September, my dear fellow otaku bloggers!  It’s back-to-school for many of us and things will start to get busier again, but I hope that you’ll still manage to find the time to blog with the rest of us.  Without further ado, I hereby declare the 5th Fujinsei Blog Carnival OPEN!  Share your best posts and have fun connecting with our fellow bloggers.  Please don’t forget to read the following rules to avoid your submission from getting deleted.  Thank you.

Duration:  September 5 to September 11

Rules of Participation:

  1. This carnival is OPEN ONLY to people who blog about anime, manga, or anything related to Japanese culture and media, and of course the otaku world.
  2. Share the link to a specific blog post at the comment section below, NOT just your blog address.  Include title of blog post and a short explanation of what your post is about.  It doesn’t have to be a recent post, but it has to be a post that you’re proud to show off.
  3. Only 1 link per blogger.
  4. Please visit at least one participant’s link; don’t just leave yours and move on.  This carnival is intended to foster a give-and-take relationship.
  5. If you wish to comment on a post, please visit the participant’s blog and comment there, not here.
  6. Shared blog posts must be decent.  No overly offensive materials.
  7. Participants who violate any or all of the above rules will be deleted from this carnival.

This blog carnival will close on September 11 (Sunday).  If you miss this carnival or have another blog post you want to share, feel free to participate on the next carnival which I will host again next month.

After this blog carnival ends, I will compile my favourite submissions into a “Best Posts Round-Up”.  Check out last month’s→“Best Posts Round-Up of the 4th Fujinsei Blog Carnival”

Please note that I’m not making you feel obligated to subscribe to any of the participants’ blogs, although I’m sure that they’ll greatly appreciate it if you do.  Feel free to subscribe only to those you liked.  My main purpose for hosting this carnival is for us otaku bloggers to have the chance to connect with each other.

De wa, go forth and explore each other’s blogs to your hearts’ content.  All otaku bloggers unite!

  1. Hope I’m not too late! I’m studying abroad in Hong Kong so my time zones are all messed up. Anyway, I’m glad I could participate and thank you for putting this on. I wanted to join in on the last one but my perfectionism in my writing and my internship got in the way. I recently finished up my thoughts on Re:Life and talked about what it makes the audience feel. Especially those of us who have already graduated from high school and would literally be in the same shoes as the main protagonist.

Even though I’m late to the party, I still hope to read a bunch of posts and be introduced to a bunch of new people!

  2. Silent But DAD-ly: Why Honoka’s Father is the Greatest

Been on an unscheduled hiatus lately so I’ll pick an older post at random! A brief deconstruction of the subtle ways in which a Love Live side character with barely any screen time is able to convey a powerful and constructive personality without uttering a single word.

  3. Hello everyone

My name is Drey from SDE and this is my first time posting on something like this and I look forward to reading and commenting on some of your blog.

This is a yaoi related post. This was one of my favorite manga to read and it was also a manga that forced me to hate clamp, I spill my emotions into this post. I read this manga at the start of my adventure into yaoiland so I had a attachment to it. So I had to write out my feelings about clamp and others.

    Thank You : )

  4. Hey Fuji Fam,
My names Lizzo. I operate a blog as means of sharing my journey. the name of my company is called Soulcial Dreamin’ Ent. where celebrate our love for music and nerd culture (Anime, Manga and gaming). How would I describe SDE Style? Random Observations. We kinda just right through our though process while watching and reading or what have you. We don’t review in the tradition sense. But yeah, have fun everyone.

  5. Hello! This is my first time taking part in this blog carnival. I wasn’t sure which post to choose but one that I am particularly proud of is this one:

I reviewed the anime ‘Kamisama Kiss’. I had a lot of things to say about the main character and I thought I should share it with others out there as a little warning before watching the anime. I still highly recommend the anime though! It is one of the best romance series (in my opinion).

I hope you all enjoy my blog! Thanks for stopping by if you do ^_^

  6. Hi there! This is my second time participating in the blog carnival 🙂 While I was tempted to link the same article as last time (an article that still remains my best), I decided to steer clear of that repetition and post something else. So here it is:

DIY Sakura’s Bows from Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun

It’s a fun, easy little tutorial in which I show how to make Sakura’s Bows from Monthly Girl’s Nozaki-kun, so I hope you enjoy! Can’t wait to read some of the stuff you guys posted 🙂

  7. This time I’m late for a reason 🙂 The post I wanted to use for the carnival didn’t go live until today lol!

My post is about men and women in anime. Basically I’m discussing what I would classify as “demeaning” towards men and women in an anime show! Kind of a hot button topic but that’s exactly why I wrote it lol sometimes you just have to charge right in with these topics!

  8. Recently I discussed five of my favourite shows to relax to; whether it be their calming visual direction or carefree characters. It’d be great if you gave it a look, you might not expect some of my choices!

Feel free to leave a comment and let me know if you think I’d be interested in any of your writing o/

  9. Joining in the party with this post from long time ago: “Throwback: Homura, on Haiku”—

Definitely a spoiler for those who haven’t watched Madoka Magica yet, but I think this is the best that I can do. The rest of what I post nowadays involve photos.

  10. Thank you for hosting the Carnival :D!

Geeky Romance in ‘It’s Difficult to Love an Otaku’

My post is an old one, it’s a review on a manga series that I’ve really been enjoying. The series is about 4 work-mates who are all otaku, and has a really interesting look at Otaku culture 🙂 I hope you all enjoy it.

  11. Yes, another Carnival!! Wooot! Okay, so for my 5th Carnival submission, I’m going to go with one of my Fangirl Moment series posts:

    Fangirl Moment: Doukyuusei

In this post I talk about one of my favorite BL manga, a sweet slice of life first love story between two high school boys in the springtime of youth! It’s a cute story that made me nostalgic for my own bittersweet first love.

  12. Figured we would jump in on this fun!

The link provided is heading towards one of our latest disucssions on why fan based OTP’s (One True pairing) upset me and how it detracts value from the author’s canon couple! A bit of a rough one, but a good one none-the-less!

  13. Horror Anime: Is there really such a thing?

A relatively short post (a food for thought kinda thing) that aims to ask the very question above — with implications regarding the horror genre, and how its presented in anime features that are tagged as “horror”.

    Happy reading guys 😀

  14. Funomenal Rear-view Contemplation: Best of Film & Game Music 2015

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to finish that massive post I promised from last month; life got in the way.

So instead, I will offer you this equally massive post of about 10 000 words, covering a topic that is similar to what I will be covering in this future post: film music. A genre that I think is GROSSLY underrepresented. Hell, I think people even notice game music more often than the former.

Anyway, I hope this list-style post will give you plenty to check out. Hopefully, I’ve inspired some of you to look at film and game music more…deeply, all the while finding new ways to listen and evaluate them.
