Happy Monday, my dear folks! What a happy and exciting day! Today my friends and I are launching a special group called Otaku Warriors for Liberty and Self-Respect, or OWLS for short.
WHO ARE WE?
We are a group of otaku bloggers who promotes acceptance of all individuals regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion and disability. We emphasize the importance of respect, kindness, and tolerance to every human being.
We do this by running regular blog tours where participating members all write about an appointed topic relevant to our cause and publishing our posts on own blogs according to our respective tour stops. Our first blog tour will start on January, so please look forward to it. All of us OWLS are very excited!
The Conception of OWLS
It all started from that depressing day on November 9 and Twitter was filled to the brim with complaints. Our dear Kausus (Otaku Gamer Zone) decided that he had enough reading these, so he messaged some of his blogging buddies, expressing his desire to form a group of otaku bloggers who will go above the spreading hate, and instead promote acceptance and tolerance for all groups regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion and disability. The idea took off from there, giving birth to Otaku Warriors for Liberty and Self-Respect (OWLS)…by the way, I’m the one who named the group. Just saying. Ehehehe.
Free to be ME.
I decided to make our group’s motto “Free to be ME” because I believe that all human beings are born with the right to be true to our own identities. It is an all-encompassing value of respect and tolerance to all humans regardless of background.
Our group consists of some pretty diverse members from different countries and cultures. We may be different individually, but we are all passionate about anime and consider ourselves as proud otaku bloggers. Together we are OWLS fighting for the right of all human beings to be free against discrimination. We fight for acceptance and tolerance through the fandom. Here are my fellow OWLS:
President: Katrina Sade (Grimmgirl)
Vice President: Kausus (Otaku Gamer Zone)
Secretary: Arria Cross (Fujinsei)
Co-secretrary: crimson613 (Crimson Blogs at Night)
Chief Creative Officer: LynLyn (Just Something About LynLyn)
Members Review & Disciplinary Committee Officer: Pink-chan (Pinky’s Palace)
Members Review & Disciplinary Committee Officer: Venus (Japanime Talks)
Public Relations Officer: Naja B. (Nice Job Breaking It, Hero)
Members:
Lita (LitaKino Anime Corner)
Matthew Castillo (Matt-in-the-Hat)
Shay (Anime Reviewer Girl)
Takuto (Takuto’s Anime Cafe)
Thank you very much for your time. We hope that you’ll support us on our cause, and if you’re interested, join us as an active member. For more information, click here. Have a great day! All otaku unite!

What do the tours consist of? And how can I become a member. I feel this is such an amazing cause because so many people in our community are teased and discriminated against. Even within our own community sometimes.

Hello! The blog tours consist of all the members writing individual posts (with an otaku twist, of course) about a chosen topic that is relevant to our cause and publishing them on their own blogs at their appointed dates. Thus the blog tour. We start this January. The 2nd blog tour is on Feb and will be available for joining to new members. If you have any more questions about OWLS, feel free to ask me anytime. If you’d like to join as an active member, please send an email using the contact form in this info page:

Once I receive your e-mail, I’ll forward them to our Members Review people. I hope you join us. Cheers!

Ahhhh, what a wonderful idea! Anime and manga have the power and visual freedom to be inclusive on every level, so it’s great that a group’s been set up to stand for those same values in 3D land too. Good luck to all of you who are a part of this. You’re all such brilliant bloggers and people in general, I’m sure great things will come of OWLS 👏 🤗🎉

Yay! Thank you very much, Elisabeth. We OWLS are very excited. Indeed, we’re all hoping to use our love of anime and manga to be more inclusive and promote the values we believe. Thanks again. Cheers!

Yay, me, too!
Oh, okay! Haha the email I sent you is so different compared to the one I sent to Ms. Kat. I treated it like it was a business email because I was nervous, oops.
Thanks for putting in a good word for me!
Looking forward to it!
Cheers~

Ahahaa! Aaaw. Don’t be. Kat is very nice. In fact, she’s nicer than me. Anyway, I’m also looking forward. We’re not in any hurry at the moment because official OWLS activities won’t start until January. And official activities won’t launch until February, but of course when you become a member soon, you’ll also start getting busy by January if you choose to join our Feb activities. Anyway, we’ll explain once you become a member.

I’m liking Rowlet. I chose him as my starter in Alola.
Re: “promote acceptance and tolerance for all groups regardless of sexual orientation and disability.”
Will an acceptable perversion be baby-boom generation old men who still like 22 year old ladies? Here’s hoping you are that tolerant.

As long as the younger one involved is not legally minor. 22 is legally an adult and if mature enough, then able to make her own decisions. Love knows no bounds and age doesn’t matter, as they say.
Yes, the Rowlet logo is so cute. Thanks to my friend Pink-chan for using it for our logo.

Re: “Love knows no bounds and age doesn’t matter,”
The whole older-younger relationship phenomena is actually based on logarithms. I can explain it to you sometime.
