Fujinsei 2016 Blogging Highlights

2016 is ending! What a crazy year, not only as an individual but also as a blogger. I’m very thankful that Fujinsei survived another year and is still as weird as ever. (whispers: To be honest, I think it got even weirder this past year) Nevertheless, the fact that this blog is still active to this day is already a cause of great celebration for me. Thank you, my dear folks!

happy girl jumping in joy

Despite my seemingly devil-may-care attitude in blogging that have others accuse me of being a halfhearted b*tch, among many other insults this 2016 alone, I’m extremely proud to say that Fujinsei has evolved into something even I didn’t expect when I first created it (in a good way, of course). So take that, haters! I mean, I’ll be eternally grateful for your insults and brutal criticisms as they only make me stronger and more determined. So come on. Keep ’em coming! Mwah. 😉

Without further ado, the following are some of Fujinsei’s Blogging Highlights this 2016:

Fujinsei Blog Carnivals
One of my goals as a blogger is to make the otaku blogging community stronger, more united, inclusive, and of course, entertaining. I know that this is very ambitious, but I find the challenge and the possibility extremely irresistible. As a result, I decided to host a series of blog carnivals inviting otaku bloggers to submit their own posts, have the opportunity not only to promote their blogs but also to network, and most especially to befriend fellow bloggers who might potentially become their most-trusted allies. I didn’t really expect much when I launched the first blog carnival this past April, but I was floored by the positive response and the number of entries. I plan to continue hosting these blog carnivals throughout 2017 as well, so please don’t be shy to participate whenever you’re available. I’ll greatly appreciate it.  Check out past blog carnivals here.

Successful Blog Monetization
l know, right? Even I didn’t see this coming, especially as an otaku blogger. I started out with affiliate marketing. At first I barely earned anything. But then things really got going after I was approved for the WordAds Program and I decided to accept sponsored posts. As a result, Fujinsei’s total earnings this 2016 is enough to pay for itself for 3 additional years. I don’t expect this trend to continue this coming 2017 because to be honest, I think that Fujinsei’s 2016 earnings was a big fluke but I’m an optimistic person…so crossing my fingers. But even if it WAS a fluke, at least this blog is already financially taken care of until 2019…that is, if WordPress doesn’t increase its prices until then.anime-girl-begging-for-money

OWLS (Otaku Warriors for Liberty & Self-Respect)
This is perhaps my most favourite blogging highlight of 2016: the launch of the super group of otaku bloggers OWLS. I’m extremely proud to be a part of this blogging group with a great cause. My co-members are all awesome. Our first blog tour is already set this January, and we’re all very excited. We hope that our group can make a difference, even in just small ways, in promoting acceptance and tolerance. Please support us and help spread our cause. Thank you! Fujinsei’s (Hopefully) Official Blog Pages of Policies & Guidelines
As a result of this blog’s monetization, I’m required by the Federal Trade Commission to disclose all the ways this blog earns money so I created a Disclosure Policy page. After additional research, I read horror stories of bloggers getting their affiliate marketing memberships revoked because their websites didn’t have any of these pages: Terms & Conditions of Use or Disclaimer and Privacy Policy. One thing led to another, and I decided to go all the way and also write my own Comment & Email Policies and Guest Post/Contributor Guidelines. Let’s just say that these pages are a kind of safeguards against any violations or penalties this blog may unknowingly incur in the future due to my own ignorance as a blogger. Let’s hope that won’t happen.

Facebook & Google+ Pages
l must confess that I’m terrible at maintaining Fujinsei’s Facebook and Google+ pages which I both created this year, but I’ll do better (hopefully) this 2017. So this is me shamelessly asking you to:

“Like” Fujinsei’s Facebook Page
“Follow” Fujinsei on Google+

On a brighter note, I’m more active on Twitter so feel free to drop by, follow, and say hi to me there:

Still Going Strong

In addition to the main highlights above, my regular blogging series continue their success from the previous year, especially my Fujinsei Kempo, Blogging Tipsand Discussion series. Two new blogging series that are also proving very popular for this blog are Lists and BishounenMy most popular and most-searched for posts are from these two series. Thank you very much for supporting these posts.

THANK YOU!!!
HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

As always, my BIGGEST thanks to my awesome readers for always enjoying my posts and sending me the sweetest messages ever. And of course, I also want to thank the amazing Friends of Fujinsei and my other blogging buddies who are always so wonderful to me. You always inspire and motivate me to become a better blogger and to write more meaningful (and outrageous) content. I’m extremely grateful for your unwavering support and friendship. To my fellow cuckoo Lyndere Club members, Gundam Siblings, Yuri on Icers and OWLSyou are a constant source of friendship, laughter and insanity. Thank you very much! Let’s go crazier this 2017, shall we?

To my new subscribers, welcome to hell, er, I mean paradise of my crazy antics! I’m very nice (most of the time) and I don’t bite (only sometimes), so yoroshiku onegaishimasu! To YOU who are reading this post right now, thank you very much for wasting, er, I mean dedicating a couple of  minutes of your time reading this useless post of mine today. I appreciate it very much.

Anime Minori dogeza

And to my haters, your mean comments and poisonous criticisms are fuel to my determination to become a better blogger. Thank you! Because of you, I’ve become more fabulous! As fabulous as Victor and Yuri at their ice dance together. (squeals) (*≧▽≦)ノシ))

Oh, and before I forget, I want to give a special shout-out to my favourite girl this year Cat (Another Gaming Day) for being an awesome friend…more like sister…maybe even a twin. I just can’t believe how much we have in common. I love you, bb! I hope that you continue to corrupt me this new year with your daily dose of half-naked photos of anime bishies, unfiltered commentaries about BL pairings, and anything about Yuri!!! on ICE.  And all hail PSME!!!

Thank you everyone! Please continue to support me in this crazy blogging journey. You are all the best. That’s all for today, folks! Have a happy & blessed New Year to all of you. Cheers!

    1. Thank you very much, Remy. Well, it was an up and down year for me. I just focused on the highs in this post. But not a bad year for me as a blogger. Ahahaha! Well, I usually receive mean messages via email. I guess some people just don’t like my personality. Oh well. I’m fine.

Yes! Same here. I’m delighted to be your blogging buddy. You’re so kind to me and I always appreciate you. Thanks again. And here’s to another fun-filled blogging year to both of us. Cheers!

      1. Focusing on the positive is good. Gotta keep your chin up!

Really? All of them are probably too chicken to say that to your face, I bet. The haters only make you strongerrrr

You’re welcome and I feel the same way! May we both have an exciting and fulfilling year!

      1. Oh my goodness. Yes! Panuorin mo ang Yuri on Ice! Ang daming nababaliw dahil diyan sa anime na yan ngayon…including me, of course. 😉
Hmmmm.

      3. Okay. Brothers Conflict, may 12 episodes yan. Reverse harem siya kaya maraming gwapo at sexing mga lalaki. 😉
Sa tingin ko ang pinaka-romcom ay Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. Mapapatawa ka talaga. Pero you must watch Yuri on Ice! It’s like…so insanely GOOOOOOOOOOD…I’m not even kidding. I’m so obsessed with it right now. Pasensiya na. Nawawala ako sa sarili ko kapag tungkol sa Yuri on Ice ang usapan.

  2. Hello! I can’t see why you would get haters, but good for you for using toxic comments to fuel your determination on being a better blogger. ^^ I think your blog is awesome and super informative. This wasn’t a useless post, but quite fun to read. Have a happy New Year! ^__^

    1. Unfortunately, I’ve been told that I can be very insensitive. I don’t notice it, of course. I apologize when I need to, but if their accusations are unfounded, well, too bad. And there are just some people who don’t agree with my way of blogging or my opinions. But that’s normal, I guess. I don’t really want to care, so yeah. But thank you very much! I appreciate your kind words. Yay! Happy New Year to you too and to your family. Here’s to an awesome 2017. Cheers!

      1. You’re welcome sister Arria :). I do enjoy them. It helps me meet other bloggers and make friends. I forget which ones but I was able to meet Pokenaja90!
I heard you do need to buy a domain. I am hoping to get started this year. ^^

      2. I find that having your own money on the line can really force you to become more serious in blogging because you don’t want to waste your money on an abandoned blog, right? At least that’s what happened to me. But I also make it a point to have fun every time because I want to keep on liking blogging. Anyway, g’luck bro.

      3. I forgot about that. I don’t want to forget why I still blog. I am blogging because it’s fun and I get to stay connected to everyone. Hopefully I don’t get consumed by business.
