Best Posts Round-Up of the 9th Fujinsei Blog Carnival

Hello, folks! Oh wow. It’s been a while, isn’t it? How are you all doing? No blog carnival this February, but don’t worry as I’ll host one this coming March. But before that, I hereby declare the 9th Fujinsei Blog Carnival officially CLOSEDI’m so behind in this round-up, but please bear with me. This blog carnival received a total of 48 “approved” entries. Awesome, right?

As always, my big thanks to all my amazing fellow bloggers who are always very supportive. You’re the veterans in these carnivals. Thank you for always participating! My blog carnivals are nothing without you. I also want to thank the new participants who participated for the first time. I hope that you participate again on the next one.

“The Art of War by Narsus: Arslan Senki Edition” by Venus (Japanime Talks) – a fun post listing good war tactics and advice inspired by the anime Arslan Senki 

“The One About Fan Service…” by Sam (Unsheathed Blog) – discusses fan service through the lens of the differing views on sexuality between Japan and the West

“Three Lines Seen in Anime and Manga Which Piss Me Off: Ramblings About Heteronormativity in Japanese Media” by Remy Fool (The Lily Garden) – an intriguing but educational rant discussing most common opinions about the yuri genre, introducing the term “heteronormativity”; must-read!

“What it means to be a Bishounen: The Different Perspectives” by KurumiShim – a list of the most common bishounen types seen in anime and how Kurumi’s view of bishounen characters has expanded through time


I originally had about 15 posts that I really liked, but I had to cut them down to 10 for this round-up. So difficult to decide which to feature! Excellent work to the 10 amazing bloggers listed above. Your posts really entertained me, even made me think (which I love). Thank you very much for sharing your great ideas and writings with us. And also my big thanks to all the bloggers who participated in this blog carnival. I hope that you participate again on the next one.

    1. Thank you! It was difficult choosing. There are some that are really well-written but I had to choose the ones that I “enjoyed” more even if not too well-written compared to them, if you know what I mean?
