This blog carnival is now CLOSED.
Welcome to April, my dear fellow bloggers! I hope you are doing fabulous. Without further ado, let me declare the 11th Fujinsei Blog Carnival OPEN! Share your best posts and have fun connecting with our fellow bloggers. New participants are always welcome! Please don’t forget to read the following rules to avoid your submission from getting deleted. Thank you.
Duration: April 3 to April 9
Rules of Participation:
- This carnival is OPEN ONLY to individuals who have blog posts about anime, manga, or anything related to Japanese culture and media, and of course the otaku world.
- Share the link to a specific blog post at the comment section below, NOT just your blog address. Include title of blog post and a short description of your post. It must be about anime, manga, or anything related to Japanese culture and media, and the otaku world. It doesn’t have to be a recent post.
- Only 1 link per blogger.
- Please visit at least one participant’s link; don’t just leave yours and move on. This carnival is intended to foster a give-and-take relationship.
- If you wish to comment on a post, please visit the participant’s blog and comment there, not here.
- Shared blog posts must be decent. No overly offensive materials.
- Participants who violate any or all of the above rules will be deleted from this carnival without any warning. This rule should be enough.
This blog carnival will close on April 9 (Sunday). If you miss this carnival or have another blog post you want to share, feel free to participate on the next carnival which I will host again next month.
After this blog carnival ends, I will compile my favourite submissions into a “Best Posts Round-Up”. Check out the previous one→“Best Posts Round-Up of the 10th Fujinsei Blog Carnival”
Please note that I’m not making you feel obligated to subscribe to any of the participants’ blogs, although I’m sure that they’ll greatly appreciate it if you do. Feel free to subscribe only to those you liked. My main purpose for hosting this carnival is for us otaku bloggers to have the chance to connect with each other.
De wa, go forth and explore each other’s blogs to your hearts’ content. All otaku bloggers unite!

In this piece, ‘Suffer little children: the naive unease of the anime zombie’, I explore anime’s unique relationship with the walking dead, and the endangered innocence mourned in the likes of School-Live!.

It’s been a while since I have written anything I felt like sharing, but I just finished writing up a post I have had on my mind for some time.
Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: With You, I belong
https://atoptheclouds.wordpress.com/2017/04/08/miss-kobayashis-dragon-made-with-you-i-belong/
I talk about the theme of “belonging”, and each characters progression in finding a place (or a person with whom) they belong. Kobayashi’s dragon maid isn’t just cute, the story told is legitimately heartwarming.
Been reading some other posts people shared, some good work being posted. Keep up the good work everyone!

I’m here, I’m here! I made it this time!
Last month I went to see A Silent Voice at the cinema, so this month I’m sharing a post about my impressions not just of the film, but also of the charm of viewing anime in a cinema setting. Hope people enjoy!

This is my first blogging event and I am trying to give it a shot.
The post I’m sharing is a list of five anime series that I am interested for the current spring season. It shows my thoughts on why I picked each of these shows: how it interested me and what I expect from it.
I hope this is received well. Thanks.

Here is what I posted today. A post about what the negatives of anime blogging can be. This is from my point of view. Please enjoy.

https://bakphoontyphoon.wordpress.com/2017/02/13/melanin-monday-i-am-not-your-stereotype-racial-representation-in-anime-part-i/
I wrote this post for my bi-weekly post series about the portrayal of Black and Brown characters in the media. In this post I look at some of the negative portrayals of characters of color in anime. The second part looks at the positives.

I feel out of place it has been awhile. So, with my Blu ray drive in my computer now, I sat back any review the full Full Metal Panic, (not the spin offs). ‘Finally The Full Metal Panic Review” might be big on content, but hits the points I feel. Hope you enjoy! 🙂

Thanks for hosting these carnivals, Arria! I couldn’t take part in the last one but for this, here goes
https://dtalksanime.wordpress.com/2017/04/03/diabolik-lovers-episode-01-girl-goes-to-rape-mansion/
It’s just a review of the first episode of the infamous Diabolik Lovers. The show is…bad to say the least but it was fun to vent my frustrations via this review. Hopefully, it can make someone laugh.

This month’s is a short piece in which I talk about why ‘I Can’t Understand What My Husband Is Saying’ didn’t work for me as a comedy but still kept me hooked enough to keep watching.

Thanks Arria for hosting another great carnival. I’ve just been checking out the posts that others have linked to that I hadn’t read and found yet more great blogs to read in future. Always appreciate that.
Okay, I’m a little late to the party this time but I’m going to share one of my features from March on conflict. I decided to share the final one, Man vs Self because it is my favourite type of conflict plus I got to use Yuri on Ice as an example anime so all and all it was great fun to write.

Hello everyone! I’m kind of new to the whole blogging thing, but I recently made my first post about a manga that I enjoyed! I reviewed the first volume of the Noragami manga and it was an excellent read! I posted my video review on my blog post which you can find below. I’d love to meet some new bloggers and fun people along the way! I’ve checked out a few of your blogs already and you guys are so good at this! ^_^

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve left a post here for the Carnival.
https://animationmonologues.wordpress.com/2017/03/01/progressive-plots-the-poem-of-wind-and-trees/
This is a post called Progressive Plots: The Poem of Wind and Trees. A review of a shounen-ai OVA from a few decades ago. It’s for a review series based around LGBTQ+ series (mostly yuri, yaoi, and genderbenders) that I’m trying to do all year but haven’t been very timely with.

Yessss Thankyouuu for another carnival!
Again, a different kind of post and it’s a formula on how to create your own Manga, Light Novel and Novel story. It is actually to inspire people to write a story for those who don’t know how to start. If I’m able to write in Japanese very well, I will translate my story and publish it in Japan.

Thank you Arria!
Cherry blossom madness is sweeping across Japan right now. If you watch anime it’s easy to see what a big deal cherry blossoms are in Japan – so many scenes of parties and streets flushed with soft pink flowers. This is my heartfelt tribute to one of my favourite memories and I wish I was there now.

I’m over here like, “I wanna play, too! I want to go to the carnival! 🎡” ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ hehe.
Thought for all of two seconds: Romeo x Juliet or Yuri on Ice? One got the most likes, the other is my favorite!
I’m choosing my favorite, a post titled “Victor’s Blush Means Everything.” It’s an examination of the subtext in Yuri on Ice and a celebration of the ambiguity that is Yuri (or YUURI, okay, fine) and Victor’s relationship. ❤ I love that show!!

This seems like a cool idea (so obviously, it’s my first time getting involved!). My blog mostly covers live-action Japanese film but I’ve reviewed some anime, too.
Earlier this year the original Ghost in the Shell got a limited theatrical re-release in the UK (and later in March in the US) so I revisited it for a review:

A generic post of mine, but a goodie. This is our latest edition to the, “Anime Beginners” series of posts. In this post we tackle the issue in regards to figuring out what genre it is that you would enjoy watching and how confusing it can sometime be.
