Fujinsei Turns 3 Years Old – A Blogiversary Special

Munching on special matcha Kit-Kats and Pocky sticks of various flavours I bought from J-Town, I quietly celebrate my blog’s 3rd anniversary. Yes, Fujinsei turns 3 years old this June. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to you who loyally read my humble blog and take the time to interact with me. I always appreciate your support. Thank you very much!

Goodness, I feel ancient. 3 years is not a lot, but it feels long. Some days ago, I read a comment by Takuto of Anime Cafe Host referring to me as his “blogging mom”. I know, right? I’ve been referred to as “senpai”, even “big sister” by fellow bloggers before, but not “mom” until Taku. Not that I have anything against moms. Not at all. I myself have several mother figures in my life, but being referred to as “mom” in my age is, you know, sort of…sad. (shouts loud) I still love you, Taku!!! I’ll fight Thug Lita over you. Nyahaha! Just kidding…or maybe not. 😉

Any new plans?

There is one big plan that I’m hoping to launch by autumn, or winter at the latest. I’m still keeping it under wraps as it’s still in the early planning stages. To be honest, I’m so nervous about it but I really want to try it out. Feel free to guess what it’s going to be, but I’m not saying anything at this moment. I’m a little superstitious, so I feel like if I reveal it to others before it happens, it won’t materialize. I don’t want to be jinxed! So bear with me for now. You’ll know for sure at the latter half of the year when I make the big announcement. Until then, please look forward to it…no matter what it is. 😉

From wacky to serious?

For the past 2 years, I’ve had tremendous fun pumping wacky posts that got me into trouble a number of times with people who took them too seriously. I understand that not everyone understands my humour. I just want to have fun blogging. My Fujinsei Kempo Series is a testament to this.

However, when I helped create the group Otaku Warriors for Liberty & Self-Respect (OWLS)I observed that my blogging style is gradually becoming serious. I’m not concerned. I think it’s a good sign; a sign which I think means that I’m maturing as a blogger. (violent coughing) Besides, I have to be serious because I’m serious about promoting OWLS’ cause. I know that my fellow members feel the same way.

Consistency is Key

Besides my secret big plan for the latter half of 2017, I’m not planning anything new for Fujinsei this year. Rather than adding new blogging series or posting schedules like I did during my previous blogiversaries, I think I would benefit better in improving what I already established. Consistency sounds easy, but trust me it’s easier said than done. So far, I’m proud to say that I have posted every month since I created Fujinsei on June 2014. I aim to improve this consistency so that I won’t regret anything in the future…hopefully.

So expect more from my staple series: Fujinsei KempoBlogging Tips, Monthly Fujinsei Blog Carnivals, OWLS Monthly Blog Toursand of course my Dear Girl ~Stories~ Recaps & Selected TranslationsI’m also planning to create more Lists of recommendations that are proving to be very popular among my readers.

THANK YOU!!!

Fujinsei will not be what it is today without your wonderful support. I can’t thank you enough. Even when I go on sudden, unannounced hiatus and be completely inactive, my stats still maintain its steady increase every month. All thanks to you! Thank you very much!

Special thanks to:

Friends of Fujinsei – Blogging is always fun and inspiring because of you. Many of you have been there since the beginning. You’ll always have special places in my heart. I can’t wait to add more wonderful friends to this list.

OWLS Members – You rock! I constantly learn new things every time I interact with you. Here’s to more successful blog tours, cheers! You are the best!

And of course, big thanks to all my followers on this blog, Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Medium. I know that I’m terrible at maintaining my other social media accounts besides this blog and Twitter, but please know that I value you so much. Thanks for taking a chance on me, and I hope that my posts are entertaining you even for a bit. Please feel free to talk to me whenever you wish. You can e-mail or contact me through any of my social media accounts. I’m very nice (most of the time) and I don’t bite (only sometimes). 😉

Last but not the least, I want to thank my fellow bloggers who are all awesome. Each and every one of you are what make this blogging community so amazing and supportive. Please continue to enjoy this blogging journey with me again this year. I have a feeling that it will continue to be a bumpy ride, but we’ll get through them together like always.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! I somehow survived 3 years of this insanity, and I still plan on surviving for more years to come. What madness! But that’s what we do here. 😀

That’s all for today, folks! Thanks for reading this dull “blogiversary special” post of mine….you are so kind. I don’t really see what’s “special” about this, to be honest, but everyone says blogiversaries are supposed to be special so…okay. Yay? Yay! Wohoo! (forced victory dance)

Have a lovely day. Cheers!

  1. Wow. TBH, if you hadn’t said 3 years, I’d have assumed you’d been blogging for at least 5 or more. Arria-san, you truly are one of the foundational members of this aniblogging community: your features are unique and yet you extend your hand to others to make the entire blogosphere a better place. Your blog and carnivals in particular helped me to feel welcome when I first started, and I dunno how I would’ve began to branch out if it hadn’t been for you. As your skills are a special gift you possess, your blog is a special gift to us all. Happy blogging, and I look forward to what the future holds. 🙂

    1. Thank you very much! You are very kind. This is the sweetest message I received today. I’m very flattered. Although I’m far from being a foundational member of this aniblogging community, as there are others who have been blogging longer than me here, I still aim to contribute a little something to it. Thank you very much for the support for my blog carnivals. I’m delighted whenever you participate, and I’m glad to hear that even for a bit, it has helped you branch out a bit. Please continue participating. 🙂 Once again, thank you very much for your kind words. Let us keep on blogging, and yes, I also look forward to what the future holds for us here in the community. Have a lovely day. Cheers!

    1. Thank you very much! Indeed, this milestone came almost without me noticing, if it wasn’t for the yearly alarms. Oh well. But thanks again for the greetings. I appreciate it. Let’s keep on blogging. Cheers!

  2. Three years! Wow, that really is an incredibly amazing achievement. Then again, your blog absolutely rocks bigtime, so it will probably be around for another 300 years to come 😊 Seriously though, you have an amazing blog going here, and the amazing things you do to help fellow bloggers like for instance hosting the carnival, is something you should be seriously proud of. Looking forward to whatever you have planned in the future. Don’t be nervous about it, as I am sure it will be great 😀 And of ourse before I forget: congratulations 🍾🍰

    1. Ahahaha! How I wish my blog will be around for another 300 years. THAT would be an achievement. We’ll see how it goes. Aaaw, you’re too kind. Thank you very much! I do enjoy hosting the carnivals. I’m just honoured that our fellow bloggers, including you, think enough of it to participate every time. Thank you very much for the support. This community is important to me. Let’s keep on blogging. Cheers!

P.S. Crossing my fingers on my secret project. (inhale exhale)

  3. Congratulations and happy 3 years! I know I call you sis and this is the first time I heard you being called as mom. You are sweet like a mother 🙂
To be honest, I don’t know what is Medium but it sounds cool. Cheers!

    1. Yay! Thank you very much, bro. I appreciate it. Nah, I don’t really want to be called mom at this point, but I’m not offended so it’s okay. I’d rather be called sis. 😉
I just joined Medium recently. It’s also like WordPress, but a little more intense, I feel. I get daily newsletters from it and read a lot of interesting and even educational posts published on it. There’s a lot of impressive people using it. I think it’s worth checking out. I know Nick is a bit active there. Unfortunately, I’m not as active there yet as I would like.

      1. Okay then sis, I will call you sis Arria :D. It’s like WordPress? That’s cool but I think I will stick with WordPress. I am already use to this blog and I don’t feel the need to get another account. Keep up with the work sis!

  6. ‘grats. The consistency is impressive.

Smart move keeping hush hush on your secret plan. I heard of a psychological study a while back that found sharing incomplete work feels as rewarding as completing work, and as such you become less likely to complete something you’ve already shared. Weird counter-productive thing the brain does.

    1. Thank you very much! I’m a little surprised myself for keeping it up this long, but I want to keep on blogging for more years to come. Indeed, I heard something like that as well. But my main reason is superstitious, but I’m glad either way. I’m nervous for my secret plan, but I’m hoping that it’ll go well when I do launch it. Anyway, thanks again for dropping by. I appreciate it. Cheers to you!
