Munching on special matcha Kit-Kats and Pocky sticks of various flavours I bought from J-Town, I quietly celebrate my blog’s 3rd anniversary. Yes, Fujinsei turns 3 years old this June. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to you who loyally read my humble blog and take the time to interact with me. I always appreciate your support. Thank you very much!

Goodness, I feel ancient. 3 years is not a lot, but it feels long. Some days ago, I read a comment by Takuto of Anime Cafe Host referring to me as his “blogging mom”. I know, right? I’ve been referred to as “senpai”, even “big sister” by fellow bloggers before, but not “mom” until Taku. Not that I have anything against moms. Not at all. I myself have several mother figures in my life, but being referred to as “mom” in my age is, you know, sort of…sad. (shouts loud) I still love you, Taku!!! I’ll fight Thug Lita over you. Nyahaha! Just kidding…or maybe not. 😉

Any new plans?

There is one big plan that I’m hoping to launch by autumn, or winter at the latest. I’m still keeping it under wraps as it’s still in the early planning stages. To be honest, I’m so nervous about it but I really want to try it out. Feel free to guess what it’s going to be, but I’m not saying anything at this moment. I’m a little superstitious, so I feel like if I reveal it to others before it happens, it won’t materialize. I don’t want to be jinxed! So bear with me for now. You’ll know for sure at the latter half of the year when I make the big announcement. Until then, please look forward to it…no matter what it is. 😉

From wacky to serious?

For the past 2 years, I’ve had tremendous fun pumping wacky posts that got me into trouble a number of times with people who took them too seriously. I understand that not everyone understands my humour. I just want to have fun blogging. My Fujinsei Kempo Series is a testament to this.

However, when I helped create the group Otaku Warriors for Liberty & Self-Respect (OWLS), I observed that my blogging style is gradually becoming serious. I’m not concerned. I think it’s a good sign; a sign which I think means that I’m maturing as a blogger. (violent coughing) Besides, I have to be serious because I’m serious about promoting OWLS’ cause. I know that my fellow members feel the same way.

Consistency is Key

Besides my secret big plan for the latter half of 2017, I’m not planning anything new for Fujinsei this year. Rather than adding new blogging series or posting schedules like I did during my previous blogiversaries, I think I would benefit better in improving what I already established. Consistency sounds easy, but trust me it’s easier said than done. So far, I’m proud to say that I have posted every month since I created Fujinsei on June 2014. I aim to improve this consistency so that I won’t regret anything in the future…hopefully.

So expect more from my staple series: Fujinsei Kempo, Blogging Tips, Monthly Fujinsei Blog Carnivals, OWLS Monthly Blog Tours, and of course my Dear Girl ~Stories~ Recaps & Selected Translations. I’m also planning to create more Lists of recommendations that are proving to be very popular among my readers.

      I just joined Medium recently. It’s also like WordPress, but a little more intense, I feel. I get daily newsletters from it and read a lot of interesting and even educational posts published on it. There’s a lot of impressive people using it. I think it’s worth checking out. I know Nick is a bit active there. Unfortunately, I’m not as active there yet as I would like.

    Smart move keeping hush hush on your secret plan. I heard of a psychological study a while back that found sharing incomplete work feels as rewarding as completing work, and as such you become less likely to complete something you’ve already shared. Weird counter-productive thing the brain does.
