Hello! Do you still remember me? Arria here. I’ve missed you! This is me officially announcing the end of my year-long blogging hiatus for the entire year of 2018.
All I can say about my abrupt hiatus is that it was a difficult but necessary decision. Due to personal issues, I had to temporarily stop blogging. I didn’t expect that it would last for an entire year but it did.
Do I regret it?
For my well-being, no. I don’t regret it. Thanks to my 1-year hiatus, I feel brand new with a full-tank of motivation and determination. I feel more…sane, if you know what I mean.
But for the abruptness of it, yes. I regret it a bit. I wish I could’ve eased into the hiatus and announced it clearly. I should’ve handled it better. I feel that I let people down.
I still have a lot of catching up to do, and I hope to reconnect with you again. It’s been so long that I feel like a newbie. It’s an exciting feeling.
I Still Love Blogging
You may wonder why I still bothered to return when I’ve been gone for an entire year. Well, what can I say? I still love blogging.
This recent hiatus is undoubtedly the longest I’ve taken. I really burned myself out badly this time. But the desire to blog is still there. I think it’s the same as my love for anime. I don’t think I’ll ever outgrow it. I may not do it as regularly as before, but I don’t think I’ll quit. Hopefully not.
Simplicity is the Goal
I definitely bit off more than I could chew when it came to blogging before. I overestimated my energy and capacity, taking on too many tasks than I could manage.
This time, I want to take things in a more leisurely manner. My horoscope for this year says that I should prioritize my peace of mind (I’m superstitious!). And that’s what I plan on doing.
So to match my new approach in blogging, I finally updated my blog’s look. No more colourful and loud colours. No more complicated menus and knick-knacks.
My blog is now simpler and more streamlined. What do you think about its new look?
I would also like to make another announcement.
I’m now an official webnovelist!
Yay! Did you ever expect that from me? I sure didn’t. It was an impulsive decision that led to an unexpected opportunity.
If you’re interested in reading it, please use my friend invite to sign up at Webnovel.com. There are a lot of amazing English-translated Chinese novels like “The King’s Avatar” by Butterfly Blue, “Coiling Dragon” by I Eat Tomatoes and other similar masterpieces.
Recently, English-translated Korean novels such as “Golden Time” by JungYong are also made available.
Perhaps in the future, English-translated Japanese novels will also be made available in this website. I sure would love for that to happen. Hopefully, they negotiate with their Japanese counterpart and strike a deal, just like what they did with Korean Munpia. Crossing my fingers!
In addition to all these translated novels, there are also a lot of original stories just like mine. Some of us have signed contracts which means that we’ll get paid when our novels become premium. Mine isn’t yet because it’s too early. I just published about a month ago. But it will eventually. 😉
Because I’m now a webnovelist, in addition to being a blogger, I also plan to use this blog to document my writing journey. So I think that things will get a little more personal here.
Don’t worry. I’ll still write the usual anime and otaku content but maybe they’re going to be a bit more introspective than before.
I guess this heralds a new direction for my blog and for me as a blogger. I’m not sure how things will turn out, but I think that this will be more comfortable and sustainable for me.
I hope that you can join me in this new journey. Thank you very much! Happy New Year!
Haha. I’m back!
