Beloved x Survival by Gero: BroCon’s Saving Grace

Many people trash the anime adaptation of the popular gyaku harem (reverse harem) novel and otome game series Brothers Conflict or BroCon.  I also have some reservations when it comes to the anime, especially regarding the plot of the story and the characters, but these are for another post.  One of the saving graces of the anime is its heart-pumpingly kick-ass opening music (besides the incredibly super hot guys, that is).

Arria’s Top 15 Most Awe-Inspiring Scenes in ONE PIECE

Minna-san, welcome to my TOP 15 MOST AWE-INSPIRING SCENES IN ONE PIECE!  This is a pretty difficult list to compile since there are a LOT of awe-inspiring scenes in ONE PIECE.  The idea of creating this list was inspired to me by fellow blogger and ONE PIECE enthusiast M-Kay from M-Kay and Zariyo Reviews during one of our conversations.  Excited with this idea, I invited M-Kay to collaborate with me.  So in addition to my top 15 list today, M-Kay is providing the commentary.  Let’s start, shall we?

15. The Mugiwara Pirates Reunites At Sabaody
This is a welcome relief, especially right after the heart-breaking tragedies of Ace’s death during the Marineford War and Sabo’s “death” during the flashback of the 3 sworn brothers’ childhood. I just have to include this in my list because it’s such an important stage in the Mugiwara Pirates’ journey, as they continue to chase after their goals. I love that each of them powered-up, improving on their strengths, and even fixing some of their weaknesses. I also want to thank Oda-sensei for deciding to improve their appearances. I especially like Zoro’s more samurai-like look, and that eye scar. . .just fabulous! I can do without Nami & Robin’s bigger boobs, but I love their longer hair. Overall, this part of the series is one of the best moves by Oda-sensei.

Arria’s Top 10 Most Gut-Wrenching Scenes in ONE PIECE (Pre-Timeskip)

This list proves to be a difficult piece for me to write, as I can’t stop crying. (ノД`)・゜・。 Putting together the list is easy enough. The hard part is remembering each scene. My chest started to tighten, my throat felt constricted, and the tears started welling. By the time I reached number 1 on my list, I was sobbing like crazy. 。゚(゚ノД`゚)゚。
So here are my top 10 most gut-wrenching scenes in ONE PIECE before the timeskip:

10. Sabo’s “Death”
The flashback of the 3 sworn brothers (Luffy, Ace & Sabo) is one of the most heart-warming arcs in ONE PIECE. You can really feel the strong bond between the 3 boys. So when Sabo “dies” because a fucking tenryuubito shoots him (damned bastard), I just yelled “No!” at the top of my lungs and started cursing the air blue for the tenryuubito to die.  My  heart broke when young Ace started sobbing at the news of his brother’s death.  (╯︵╰,)
I’m so glad that he’s not really dead.

About 2 months ago, I discovered this amazing Japanese commercial via Facebook about the new Subaru Forester car inspired by Isayama Hajime-sensei‘s highly popular Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin / 進撃の巨人) manga and anime series.  If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend that you do right now.

This is the 10th episode of Kamiya Hiroshi (神谷浩史) and Ono Daisuke’s (小野大輔) radio show Dear Girl ~Stories.  This is yet another hilarious episode, which I greatly enjoyed.  Right at the beginning, OnoD cracked me up when he announced that Kamiya-san’s new nickname has been decided to be “Sexy”.  If you’ll remember from the previous episode, they accepted suggestions from their listeners for Kamiya-san’s new nickname.  One of them is “Sexy.”  Here is a rough translation of their conversation:

Ono: Sexy. . .OnoD. . .
Kamiya: It’s like you’re announcing that you’re sexy. I’m not in it at all.
Ono: Is that so? Sexy OnoD.

Next up is Futsuu Story corner where they read letters from their listeners.  Here is a rough translation of one of the letters.
