Good day, folks! How are you all doing? Today, I would like to share my recent guest post I wrote for our friend Brandon on his website Anime Mode Universe. The title of my guest post is “Yes, Real Men Cry (Masculinity in ONE PIECE)”.
Hello folks! We of the Otaku Warriors for Liberty & Self-Respect (OWLS) have reached our 3rd blog tour. How exciting is that? I hope that you enjoyed last month’s Yuri on Ice “Flight” Blog Tour. It was super fun, believe me. This month’s topic is Sanctuary and it’s our busiest blog tour yet, with 3-4 bloggers posting every week. I hope you enjoyed Rai’s tour post this past Monday about “chuunibyou”. She did a great job. Now it’s my turn. Here we go.
A sanctuary is a place of safety and stability. In anime, there are several different places and environments that characters call “home”. For this topic, we will be discussing various locations and settings within certain anime series.
The heights that the ONE PIECE series has reached are on another level. Nobody can deny that. A Guinness World Record is certainly more than enough proof of its greatness. It’s also my #1 favourite series. But like so many people, I also wonder what in the world is the great treasure, ONE PIECE, which is the namesake of the series itself. What is this mysterious treasure said to be of unimaginable value that Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King, left for all the world to seek just before he was executed?
Remembering my first ever Fujinsei Kempo lesson.
Achieving Enlightenment the Otaku Way
Osu! Greetings, shokun! From now on, I’ll be regularly invading Arria’s space to carve my own place here at fujinsei. You may call me Cross-shishou. No, I insist you call me that. I am what you call an alter ego, born from Arria’s repressed otaku. Yes, that woman’s still repressing the otaku inside her, even when she has this blog and all. She’s just too meek to create her own school of teachings for the sole purpose of achieving enlightenment the Otaku Way. So I decided to wrench my consciousness from Arria, separating myself from her, to establish Fujinsei Kempo. I give you the honour of becoming my first student.
Many of my blog buddies know how much I love ONE PIECE. If it’s about OP, I’m all about it. But that doesn’t mean that I’m blind to its faults. No, not at all. I do my best, however, to focus on its positives rather than its negatives. For example, when Episode of Sabo was announced, I almost couldn’t contain myself with excitement. I couldn’t wait to watch it. I even predicted that it was going to be the hottest release of August 2015. . .I was wrong. It was mostly good, focusing on the reunion between the 2 brothers, Luffy & Sabo, but it lacked the oomph I initially expected. Read “I Love ONE PIECE But I’m Just A Teeny-Tiny Bit Disappointed With Episode of Sabo“ for my opinions about the TV special.
